One Don Hates Me to the Bone, the Other Seeks My Ruin Chapter 01

One Don Hates Me to the Bone, the Other Seeks My Ruin Chapter 01

My dirt-poor childhood sweetheart, the one I had sworn my life to, begged me to wait three years for him

before he went abroad.

Yet, during the second year of Noah’s absence, I married Oliver, the underboss of the Martinez family, solely

for money.

Oliver did not love me; I was merely a tool he used to exact revenge on his true love.

Later, Noah, now a billionaire, returned to the country with his fiancée.

He cornered me, demanding answers with bitter resentment.

“Do you regret leaving me?”

Oliver yanked me into his chest.

“She is mine. Nobody touches her!”

Running into Noah again had to happen at his engagement party.

He was no longer the broke boy who had once promised me a lifetime.

The man before me wore a priceless custom suit, a Patek Philippe gleaming on his wrist.

Standing beside his elegant fiancée, they looked absolutely perfect together.

They were easily the most eye-catching couple in the Upper East Side.

I stared, lost in thought.

Suddenly, a hand pinched my waist, the sharp pain making me shudder.

Oliver leaned down, his voice dripping with mockery.

“How does it feel to see your old lover?”

I clenched my fists, keeping my voice deadpan.

“You must be joking, Don Martinez. I barely know Don Williams.”

Oliver was my husband, yet he only allowed me to call him Don Martinez, just like everyone else.

It was a family rule, and a deliberate humiliation.

Looking up, my eyes locked with Noah’s.

His expression was cold and distant, as if he were looking at a complete stranger.

A suffocating weight pressed on my chest, and I excused myself from the room.

The moment I stepped past the corner of the hallway, a hand clamped around my wrist

Brute force dragged me into the shadows of the corridor.

Before I could gasp, a kiss fueled by suppressed rage crashed down on my lips.

It was Noah.

I struggled in shame and anger.

He pinned me flat against the wall, his voice freezing my blood.

“We have done far worse. Why play innocent now?”

His sarcasm was a dull blade, carving into my heart.

Suppressing the sting in my eyes, I whispered a warning.

“Aren’t you afraid your fiancée will find out, Don Williams?”

He let out a dry laugh.

“You should worry about yourself instead of me.”

His hot breath brushed against my ear.

“I just saw Oliver drag your sister into the VIP room next door…”

Before he could finish, the door of the adjacent suite swung open with a bang.

A woman in a designer gown rushed out, wiping away tears.

Oliver followed closely behind, chasing after her.

Terrified of being seen, I instinctively shrank into Noah’s chest.

His suit carried that familiar scent of cedar wood.

I thought I had forgotten it, but now it felt painfully vivid.

I only breathed a sigh of relief when their footsteps faded away.

But as I looked up, I met Noah’s dark, mocking glare.

“Are you really that terrified of Oliver catching us?”

“Of course,” I said, trying to sound calm. “He is my husband.”

The frost in Noah’s eyes deepened.

His lips curled into a sneer.

“Donna Martinez is indeed hopelessly in love with Don Martinez.”

By the time I composed myself and returned to the ballroom, Oliver was gone.

A text from him popped up on my phone.

“Family business. Left first.”

The venue was a private estate on the North Shore of Long Island, and there were no cabs available at this

hour.

Holding up my gown, I limped down the driveway in my heels.

Luxury cars sped past, but none of them stopped.

Everyone in the New York syndicate knew I was nothing but a trophy in this marriage.

A Martinez in name only.

My heels were bleeding, so I took them off to rest.

A Maybach pulled up beside me.

The window rolled down.

Revealing Noah’s cold, mocking face.
