One Don Hates Me to the Bone, the Other Seeks My Ruin Chapter 03

Harper had always been arrogant and malicious.

She had abandoned Oliver to marry a wealthy French businessman.

But after getting divorced last month due to a money laundering case, she came crawling back to Oliver.

Given my current situation, I should have avoided her.

But remembering Jessica’s kindness on the mountain, I could not just stand by.

I stepped forward, shielding Jessica behind me.

“Does Don Williams know you are treating his fiancée like this?”

“Or is this what passes for Upper East Side class these days?”

The girls hesitated, looking at each other, wary of my status as Donna Martinez.

After all, the Martinez family was one of the top five syndicates in New York.

Even with their own wealthy backgrounds, they dared not easily offend Don Martinez’s wife.

Harper was furious.

“Helen, you are just a bastard child. How dare you lecture me?”

“Oliver loves me! You are nothing but my cheap substitute! What are you so proud of?”

“You and your mother are both shameless homewreckers!”

She could insult me all she wanted.

But I would not tolerate her slandering my mother.

I raised my hand and slapped Harper across the face, sending her to the ground.

I looked down at her.

“Oliver and I are legally married. Technically, you are the mistress here.”

Turning around, I comforted a tearful Jessica.

“Are you alright, Miss Thompson?”

Her eyes shifted behind me, and she suddenly fell backward.

I instinctively reached out to grab her, but it was too late.

Jessica fell straight into the pool.

Before I could call for help, a figure plunged into the water, pulling a coughing Jessica to safety

It was Noah.

Soaking wet, Jessica cried and accused me.

“Donna Martinez, why did you push me in…”

My mind went entirely blank.

Meeting Noah’s hateful glare, I felt a wave of helplessness.

“No, it was not me…”

At that moment, Oliver rushed over.

Ignoring my presence, he helped Harper up, his face filled with concern.

“Who did this to you?”

Harper sobbed, holding her cheek. “Helen called me a mistress…”

The other girls quickly chimed in, twisting the truth.

In an instant, I became the villain.

Noah spoke coldly to Oliver.

“Don Martinez, your wife publicly humiliated my fiancée. There is no need for us to work together anymore.”

He carried Jessica away, never looking back at me.

The next second, Oliver kicked me brutally into the pool.

His eyes were bloodshot as he spat out the words.

“Helen! You stay right there tonight and think about what you did!”

On the pool deck, Harper smirked at me triumphantly.

But my eyes remained fixed on Noah’s retreating figure.

The water was freezing, but it had nothing on the ice spreading through my chest.

When I opened my eyes again, I was lying in a hospital bed.

My entire body felt weak, and my head throbbed.

The suffocating sensation of drowning from last night was still fresh in my mind.

Through my blurry, feverish vision, I saw a familiar figure standing by the bed.

Was I hallucinating?

I managed a weak smile at the person.

But the next second, a cold, biting voice shattered the silence of the room.

“Oliver treats you like garbage, yet you are still devoted to him. How pathetic can you get?”
