His Captive Obsession Chapter 10

His Captive Obsession Chapter 10

The house fell completely silent.

A freezing gaze shifted onto us.

“Take the little Munchkin to a separate room and have the nanny look after her,” Daddy ordered smoothly.

Mom’s shoulders trembled. “Mr. Vance, what are you trying to do?”

He offered her a breathtakingly beautiful smile, but it carried an eerie, dangerous edge that made my skin crawl.

“You look so fragile, yet you had the guts to lock me up? Didn’t you think about the consequences?”

“Don’t be scared. Take a look at your phone.”

Suddenly, Victoria’s piercing screams echoed from the driveway outside. She came scrambling back into the house on her hands and knees, completely hysterical.

I was still in Ashton’s arms, looking down at his phone screen where a viral video was trending.

The security footage showed the cake being brought out from the kitchen, and Victoria slipping something into it when no one was looking.

To avoid suspicion, she had even let her own daughter eat it.

Another article exposed the truth about the little girl—she wasn’t adopted at all; she was Victoria’s biological child from a secret relationship during her teenage years.

“Do you like it?” Daddy asked the hysterical woman on the floor. “You wanted to be trending, right? Should I buy more ad space for you?”

Victoria wept violently. “I’m beautiful! Why don’t you want me?!”

Her crying was giving me a headache.

Daddy knit his brows in irritation. “Stop crying. You’re just as loud and annoying as your kid. Do I need to buy you candy to shut you up too?”

“Besides, look in a mirror. I’m beautiful too. Why would I care about yours?”

Wow. He was just as vain as he used to be.

Back then, he would ask me every single day, “Does Daddy look handsome today? Will Mom like it?”

I was too young to understand aesthetics, but even I knew his face was flawless and completely striking.

Victoria was dragged out for good, leaving only the few of us in the room.

“Miss Linton, I apologize for my former fiancée’s behavior. Losing my memories made it hard to know who to trust, so I had to play along to figure things out.”

Seeing Mom give no reaction, he added out of nowhere, “For the record, I’ve been completely faithful.”

Mom ignored his comment entirely, keeping her voice cautious. “Mr. Vance, can we leave now?”

Daddy tilted his head, a smirk playing on his lips. “Am I that terrifying?”

“You haven’t looked me in the eye once tonight.”

“Not at all, Mr. Vance—”

“Are you afraid I’m going to ruin you? Smart girl.”

A droplet of red stained the white carpet.

Daddy’s tight expression finally relaxed as he held up a diamond cufflink, blood pooling in his palm.

“Oops, accidentally scratched myself. Don’t worry.”

He dialed a number on his phone, his eyes locked onto Mom with an intense, suffocating emotion.

“Have Miss Linton’s things moved here tomorrow. Revenge is a dish best served slowly, after all.”
