His Disabled Sweetheart Stole My Wedding, I Wed His Rival Chapter 03

Chapter 3 See Her Out

The first thing I did after getting home was pack up every gift Kane had given me for our engagement and send them all back.

Then I told my parents I was going to marry someone else.

The moment they learned the groom was Jaylen, both of them agreed without hesitation.

We spent the entire afternoon getting everything ready for the wedding.

That was when Kaleigh showed up.

“Anastasia.”

Her face was pale.

I looked at her sitting in the wheelchair and asked, “Yes? Do you need something?”

She took out a sheet of paper.

“Anastasia, since the engagement is over, you shouldn’t keep his things. You should return everything he gave you.”

I paused for a second.

“Kane asked you to come here?”

“You do not need to know that.”

She sat up straighter, acting like she had the moral high ground.

I frowned.

“I already packed everything Kane gave me and sent it back. What exactly are you accusing me of ‘keeping’?”

“When I went over the list, there was a sapphire set missing. It’s a three-million-dollar set, Anastasia. You should give it back.”

My mom happened to be coming downstairs and heard everything. She rushed over.

“Have you no shame? You went after my daughter’s fiancé and still have the nerve to show up here. Are you acting like you are already part of the Jones family? What gives you the right to

ask my daughter for anything?”

“Mrs. Sweet, you know it isn’t right to keep something that isn’t yours.

“Or does Anastasia think she can hold on to gifts that don’t belong to her?”

I pulled my mom back and did not bother arguing with Kaleigh. I went upstairs and searched through the rooms.

I finally found the sapphire set on the nightstand in the bedroom.

I brought it down and handed it to Kaleigh.

“Can you leave now?”

“There is also…”

“What else?”

“A pair of pearl earrings worth two hundred thousand.”

Her eyes went straight to my ears.

They were the pair Kane had given me for my birthday last year.

My face went cold.

“Those were gifts Kane and I gave each other when we were together. They weren’t engagement gifts.

“And I bought him plenty of things that cost about the same. If we start keeping score like that, who could keep track?”

Kaleigh lifted her chin.

“That’s not on me. You and Kane aren’t together anymore. I’m just taking back his gifts. That’s fair. And if you want, you can take back what you gave him too.”

Kane and I had been together for five years. We gave each other presents for every holiday.

If we had started keeping score, there would have been no end to it.

“Tell Kane to come get them himself. If he won’t, forget it.”

Kaleigh’s face went pale for a moment.

“It’s the same if I do it. Are you planning to keep the expensive ones? You already ended the engagement, but you still want to keep his gifts? That doesn’t embarrass you?”

I stayed cold and refused to argue with her. I looked at the housekeeper.

“See her out.”

“Please leave.”

The housekeeper stepped forward to take her out, but she suddenly lost it. She shoved him aside and came straight at me, slamming into me so hard I hit the floor.
