His Disabled Sweetheart Stole My Wedding, I Wed His Rival Chapter 02

Chapter 2 This Engagement Is Over

It did not take long before Kaleigh appeared on stage in a brand new wedding dress.

The officiant continued the ceremony and the seats below were filled with friends of both Kane and Kaleigh.

I watched them quietly.

Until my parents and Kane’s parents arrived.

I threw myself into my mom’s arms and started crying. Kane’s mom Mrs. Jones figured out what was going on right away and marched forward to slap Kaleigh across the face.

The whole thing happened so suddenly that everyone froze.

“You shameless little tramp. How dare you go after my son again!”

She charged at Kaleigh and the two of them started struggling.

Kane finally snapped out of it and pulled his mother back.

“Mom, what are you doing? Kaleigh is still weak.”

Kaleigh looked terrified as she curled up in Kane’s arms, tears hanging at the corner of her eyes, pitiful as ever.

“Kane, please don’t fight with Mrs. Jones.”

That helpless look only made Kane feel even more protective.

Mrs. Jones pointed at Kaleigh, her chest rising and falling with anger.

“You would choose that woman over Anastasia?”

“Mom, I am not choosing Kaleigh over Anastasia. I just want to help Kaleigh fulfill her last wish first.

“Her legs were hurt because of me back then. Mom, I cannot turn my back on her.”

Kane sounded righteous, like he was doing something noble.

He turned to me.

“Don’t worry. After I help Kaleigh with her last wish, our wedding tomorrow will go on like planned.

“I will marry you and make it up to you. I swear.”

I buried myself in my mom’s arms and pretended to cry.

My mom let out a cold snort.

“We don’t need your fake sympathy. Since you have already decided to marry another woman, this engagement is over. I will send back everything your family gave us tomorrow.

“My daughter is not someone who has to settle for this. She doesn’t need to stay here and be humiliated by you.”

Mrs. Jones rushed over.

“Mrs. Sweet, please, let’s not do this. The kids messed up, but we can talk. Please.”

Kane tried to step forward to say something, but Kaleigh grabbed his arm.

“Kane, don’t go.”

A flicker of hesitation crossed his face.

Kaleigh looked pitiful and fragile.

“Anastasia has her family with her. I only have you.

“And you two are already engaged. She is just upset… she won’t really walk away from you.”

The moment Kane heard that, whatever intention he had to speak up vanished.

My mom pulled me away from the wedding site and headed out. Mrs. Jones tried to follow us.

But

my dad stepped in and blocked her path.
