Mason stood in the doorway looking like he had come straight out of hell.

Before I could react, he crossed the room in a few strides and grabbed my wrist.

“What are you two doing?”

He clamped down on my forearm through the fabric of Adrian’s shirt, hard enough to make me hiss/ in pain.

The next second, Adrian seized Mason’s wrist in a viselike grip.

“Get out.”

The flush had not completely faded from Adrian’s face, but the air around him had turned terrifyingly cold.

The comments started screaming.

[What is happening? Why is the male lead this angry? How did a showdown between two women turn into two brothers fighting over the same woman?!]

[Honestly, as long as I get a messy romantic showdown, I don’t care who’s fighting over whom. I’m here for it. Fight! Fight!]

[The male lead is probably furious because he remembered that she used to touch him the exact

same way, and now he’s disgusted.]

[I think so too. Look at his injured arm. He did not even wait to have it healed before storming in

here. He must not have been able to stand it.]

I looked down and only then noticed that Mason’s arm was still bleeding.

The metallic reek of blood hung heavy in the room.

Mason’s face was twisted with anger, but under his brother’s stare, he finally released me.

Even then, his eyes remained locked on the arm I still had under Adrian’s shirt, the rims red with

fury.

“Take it out.”

Fine.

I pouted and started pulling my hand free.

At the last second, I gave Adrian’s skin one more slow stroke.

He was my canon love interest, and Adrian himself had agreed to let me touch him. What was wrong

with one more feel?

That final stroke made both men stiffen from head to toe, and color rushed into both their faces

Adrian was embarrassed. His expression stayed cold, but the tips of his ears were so red they looked

ready to bleed. He turned and glanced at me.

Mason was simply furious.

His face had been pale from blood loss only moments ago, but now it burned bright red.

He looked down at his own stomach, then at his brother’s, before glaring at me with reddened eyes!

“Quinn! Did you use the same lie on my brother too?!”

Adrian had not been there when Chloe exposed me. He had assumed Mason and I were only having

an argument.

Now he frowned slightly, clearly unable to follow what we were talking about.

Mason gritted his teeth.

“Healing only requires physical contact, but you keep feeling us up anyway. You little per-”

The comments burst out laughing.

[Mason is really hung up on this. He keeps bringing up how she took advantage of him.]

[Of course he is. He used to be such a pure, untouched young man. Now she’s felt him up God knows

how many times. A man ought to have some modesty.)

[Once a man’s been defiled, nobody will want him. If I were Chloe, I wouldn’t take him either.]

I rubbed my fingertips together, a little embarrassed, though not very much.

I did not want Mason branding me a pervert, but I wanted even less to tell him about my strange condition.

Besides, I had healed him for free. Letting me touch him a little had not cost him anything.

And when he used to hold me every night, he must have found it comforting too.

Several times, when I had gotten too warm in the middle of the night, he had instinctively pulled me

even tighter against him.

Still, I did not dare look at Adrian.

I was afraid that once he learned I had lied, he would look at me with the same disappointment I had

seen in Mason’s eyes.

“I let her touch me.”

The room fell into an eerie silence.

I looked up in shock, and Mason’s face went even paler.

“Adrian?”

The blood running down Mason’s arm seemed to congeal in his palm and hang there without

dripping.

“Get out of my room.”
