My Boyfriend Played Broke to Fool Me, So I Vanished Chapter 07

Today was originally supposed to be the day Evan and Luna tried on wedding dresses.

Luna called repeatedly to urge him. Evan didn’t pick up any of the calls.

She was so furious she smashed cosmetics all over the floor of the bridal shop’s dressing room

The staff didn’t dare intervene.

Suddenly, someone shouted happily toward the door, “Miss Luna, Mr. Chase is here.”

Luna paused for a moment, then instantly brightened with joy.

Right. This was a marriage jointly arranged by both families. How could it be called off just because

of some mess he’d made on the side?

In the dressing mirror, she saw Evan’s figure entering the room.

“Evan, you’re late.”

Strangely, Evan’s face didn’t carry that usual fake smile.

He looked at Luna with eyes full of ice.

The sight made Luna’s heart shiver.

“What’s wrong?”

Luna couldn’t help feeling a prickle of unease.

Evan walked behind her. His hands rested on her shoulders-light, almost hovering.

Luna had already put on the wedding dress. This was custom-made by an Italian designer.

She’d waited three whole months. Finally, it had crossed the ocean and been worn on her body.

“Such a beautiful wedding dress.”

A rich young lady who could have anything she wanted.

Yet she was this terrified of a woman who had nothing.

“It’s just a shame it’s on you.”

The sweet smile Luna had been wearing on her face suddenly froze.

Anger stained her features.

She saw the abnormality in Evan.

“What do you mean?”

Evan pulled his hands from her shoulders with a cold sneer.

“What do I mean? What did you mean by what you did at the barbecue shop?”

“I told you. There’s nothing between me and her. Why did you still go to the barbecue shop to finish,

her off?”

Stung by this confrontation, Luna shot up from her chair. “Nothing between you? Then what are you doing right now? Raising your voice at me over her?”

Evan’s eyes were red. “What, I can’t? Did you think everyone in the world has to accommodate you?”

Luna was so enraged she stamped her feet on the spot. The hem of her dress was crushed beneath her stomping, turning wrinkled and creased.

“You bastard! We’re about to get married and you’re still tangled up with your ex-girlfriend. You think I don’t know? You bought a new house-were you planning to keep her there? A woman who’s been to prison and you treasure her like this. You have no shame!”

Evan drew a deep breath.

He hadn’t expected Luna to have investigated so thoroughly behind his back.

“I told you. She’s just a crazy woman. There’s no way she and I could work.”

“Crazy woman? The look in your eyes when you see her isn’t the look of seeing a crazy woman. If I

hadn’t made a move against her, wouldn’t that mean I’d have to tolerate my husband having a mistress from the very start?”

Evan was provoked into grabbing her by the throat.

“Do you have any idea? She was disfigured by the people you sent. Now she’s missing. She could very well already be-”

At this point, Evan’s eyes suddenly reddened.

Even if he couldn’t accept it, he knew in his heart-Nora’s odds were grim.

Luna struggled for breath, yet a look of gloating satisfaction spread across her face.

“Could very well already be dead. Dead is good. Once she’s dead, you’ll stop thinking about her

Evan flung Luna onto the sofa beside them.

Luna steadied her breathing and laughed.

“Not happy? Too bad you can’t do anything about it. Our marriage was arranged by our parents. you want to break off the engagement, then go ahead and try living the hard life without your

parents’ support.”

Evan’s hand on the doorknob froze.

He knew better than anyone.

A spoiled second-generation heir like him-without relying on his family-was nothing at all.
