When I Was Reborn, I Froze All Her Accounts Chapter 06

When I Was Reborn, I Froze All Her Accounts Chapter 06

“Mr. Rossi?” the manager prompted again.

Ethan gritted his teeth and pulled out several cards, trying to split the payment-but he still fell

short.

Whispers rippled through the crowd, and his ears burned bright red with embarrassment. He

stalked off to make a phone call.

The so-called friends he kept company with were just as shallow and unreliable as he was.

I’d already put word out that I intended to take Ethan down, so no one dared lend him a cent.

Ethan’s fingers trembled around his phone as he dialed his mother, Barbara.

“Mom, transfer a hundred thousand dollars to me right now-tell Dad it’s urgent! Mom, I really

need this money!”

Barbara stammered and hesitated awkwardly on the other end. She simply didn’t have access to

that kind of liquid cash.

All the family’s finances were controlled by her husband William and their eldest son, Alexander.

I stood to the side, watching Ethan spiral into total humiliation with quiet satisfaction.

Pathetic. This is nothing compared to what’s coming for him.

He made one final call-to his older brother, Alexander.

“Bro, can you lend me seventy grand? It’s an emergency.’

Even once the money hit his account, Ethan’s expression remained grim.

Years earlier, he’d begged Alexander for money to buy a sports car and gotten chewed out for it.

He’d sworn he would never ask his brother for money again—and now he was humiliating himself and backtracking on his vow.

As soon as the funds cleared, Ethan rushed to pay the bill.

He lingered by the front desk, his dress shirt soaked with nervous sweat, his face ashen.

Someone from the group wandered over and asked if my offer of free cars still stood.

“Go ask Olivia for that money,” I replied coolly. “Didn’t everyone hear she made four million?”

His face flushed crimson, and the group of students beside him fell silent. I slung my bag over my

shoulder and turned to leave.

“Scarlett!” Ethan shouted after me.

“I’ll make you pay for this!”

I glanced over my shoulder and tossed him a contemptuous smirk.

“Ethan, you’d better head home first and sort out the mess you’ve landed your family in.”

“Don’t think I don’t know about the scheme you’ve been plotting behind closed doors- coordinating with six companies to sabotage the Moretti enterprise.” I tapped a finger against his

cheek.

“I’ve got a special surprise waiting for you. Go home and open it.”

I climbed into my car. Instead of heading home, I drove toward the Rossi mansion.

I wasn’t about to miss the dramatic finale I’d carefully orchestrated.

I parked across the street from the Rossi property.

It was only minutes before Ethan’s car screeched to a halt in the driveway.

He sprinted through the front gate and pushed open the door-only to receive an immediate stinging slap across his face.

“You reckless, insolent boy! Get inside here now!”

I stepped out of my car and crept up beside the wall.

A crack in the living room window let every word carry clear and loud.

William slammed a stack of printed documents into Ethan’s chest.

“The Morettis have pulled all their investment capital! Every piece of proof showing you conspired with six firms to take down the Moretti company is right here!”

“Do you have any idea who Scarlett is? Even I treat her with the utmost respect and caution-what

possessed you to provoke her like this?!”

Ethan held his throbbing cheek.

“Dad, I only wanted to teach her a small lesson…”

“A lesson?”

William kicked an ornate porcelain vase off its pedestal, shattering it across the floor.

“What makes you think you’re important enough for that? If Scarlett hadn’t once taken an interest in you, you’d mean less than a stray dog in this household!”

“First thing tomorrow, you’re coming with me to the Moretti residence to get down on your knees and apologize to Scarlett!”

“I won’t go! I’ve done nothing wrong! My heart belongs to Olivia!”

“Scarlett’s always flaunting her wealth to belittle Olivia, and I’m not dropping this!”

William unbuckled his leather belt and struck Ethan repeatedly, beating him brutally until he dropped to his knees.

Ethan curled up on the floor, shielding his head as blood trickled down his forehead.

Barbara came rushing downstairs and threw herself over Ethan, only for William to shove her

aside.

“Dad, beat me dead if you want. I’m still not apologizing.”

Alexander descended the stairs slowly, staring down at his younger brother.

“If you refuse to apologize, that’s fine too. Effective immediately, you’ll be disowned, and all your family-held assets will be seized entirely.”

Ethan lifted his head, voice shaky.

“Alexander…”

“It’s your call. Either go apologize, or cut ties with this family permanently.”

Ethan’s whole body trembled.

“I’ll go… I’ll go apologize to Scarlett.”

Satisfied, I hurried back home by car

I instructed the head butler to alert me the second anyone from the Rossi family showed up.

Early the next morning, the butler came to tell me the Rossis had arrived.
