I Back to the Future, My Alpha Regrets Me in the Past Chapter 03

In the bathroom, Ryan bathed her with his own hands.

Their voices were low, but I could still hear.

“Ryan, my wolf is telling me she needs you…”

“Not now. Rachel’s still out there.”

“Relax, we’ll keep it quiet. She won’t know.”

Their breathing grew ragged behind the bathroom door.

Through the haze of pain, I heard every sound of their coupling.

It didn’t end until they were finished. And only then did the backlash inside me finally stop.

I lifted my shirt. My body was covered in wounds of varying sizes. The bleeding had stopped at least.

But the wound in my heart would never close.

Zoe walked out of the bathroom wearing Ryan’s dress shirt, looking pleased with herself.

“Ms. Moore, I figured you’d be the generous type. Didn’t expect you to get worked up over a wedding gown. No wonder Ryan’s never mated you after all these years. I honestly feel bad for him.”

She crouched beside me. Deliberately tilted her neck to show the crescent mark Ryan had left there. Then she leaned in close and whispered right into my ear.

“Ryan already marked me. I’m his mate.”

“Oh, and just so you know, we just had a little fun in the bathroom. You heard that, right?”

“And if you did hear it? Good. I did it on purpose. Just to make you sick.”

The moment she saw Ryan emerge, Zoe’s entire demeanor transformed.

“Ryan, see? I told you Rachel was faking it. Look, she’s not even bleeding anymore. That was obviously ketchup.”

Ryan shot me a look of pure disgust and tossed a mop at my feet.

“Clean up your little stunt. Stop making trouble for Zoe.”

I didn’t pick up the mop. I just looked at Ryan. Even now, was he really going to pretend he couldn’t smell the difference?

Zoe crossed her arms and watched. When I didn’t move, she grabbed the mop herself and cleaned up every trace of blood.

Then she flung the mop onto me.

“Ms. Moore, looks like housework isn’t your strong suit. I did it for you. No need to thank me.”

Ryan stood there and said nothing.

He glanced me up and down, then put his arm around Zoe and left.

“Zoe, I’ll drive you home.”

At the door, he looked back at me. Something unreadable flickered in his eyes.

“Rachel, have everything cleaned up before I get back. Stop being so childish. Our marking ceremony is postponed. I need to reconsider our relationship.”

I didn’t respond. I just stared at him, numb.

This man still thought he’d get a marking ceremony with me.

Sorry. You’ll never get that ceremony.

I don’t love you anymore, Ryan.

After they left, I found the first-aid kit and wiped the blood from my body, bit by bit.

Once the blood was gone, ugly scars remained. Scissor marks, all of them.

That was when Mason’s voice came through.

“Rachel, the paperwork upstairs got approved. Tomorrow at noon, twelve o’clock sharp, you’ll be transported back to the future.”

I exhaled in relief. Good. I’d be free of him soon.

I walked into the bathroom. The lingering scent of Ryan and Zoe’s coupling still hung in the air, but I didn’t care anymore.

I washed myself clean, looked at the woman in the mirror growing colder by the second, and I knew. My heart no longer stirred for Ryan Ashford.

Goodbye, Ryan. I don’t love you anymore.
