His Son, Her Photo, My Turn Chapter 17

His Son, Her Photo, My Turn Chapter 17

“Her wedding to Mr. Garrison is today, and it’s caused a massive sensation across the city I don’t understand how the mistress could completely transform into a different person in just a matter of days She used to love you so much…”

“Don’t blame her.”

Jonathan slowly lifted his head. “It’s my fault. I shouldn’t have looked for a stand-in while she was comatose. If she hadn’t pushed me out of the way during that car crash, I would have been the one in a coma. She saved my life, yet I was fooling around with another woman. When she woke up, promised to break things off with Lily, but because she didn’t seem to care, I kept seeing her. I had no idea she wanted to leave me all along.”

“Valerie has always been someone who tolerates absolutely no betrayal. I was a fool.”

“You can leave now, Lee. The company is bankrupt, so there’s no reason for you to stay with me anymore.”

The assistant looked at him with concern. “Will you be alright on your own? Why don’t I drive you home?”

“No need. There’s a place I have to go.”

The assistant knew exactly where he was headed and didn’t try to stop him.

“Understood. By the way, Mr. James, there’s something I forgot to mention. The police station called; they said Ms. Foster has been hysterical in her cell, screaming that she needs to see you and

Silas.”

“They also said she claims Silas isn’t your biological son.”

“I know.”

Surprised by his calm reaction, the assistant asked curiously, “You already knew?”

“After Lily was arrested, I began to doubt if Silas was actually mine. I had a paternity test done, and the results proved the child isn’t mine.”

That was why when Valerie asked him what would happen to the child, his immediate response had been to send him to an orphanage.

It wasn’t out of cold-blooded cruelty, but because that child was the product of Lily’s infidelity.

Naturally, he had no intention of keeping him around.

Inside the cathedral, a magnificent wedding was underway.

The grand celebration of the century was in full swing.

Draped in a stunning white veil, Valerie walked gracefully toward the man standing before the altar.

Gavin looked exceptionally handsome in his white tuxedo, his face lit up with a brilliant smile she

had never seen before.

After spending time together over the past weeks, her heart had already begun to beat for him.

Marrying him was her absolute best choice.

Thunderous applause erupted across the sanctuary as she drew nearer to him step by step.

Gavin took her hand into his, whispering softly, “Valerie, I’ve finally been waiting for this day,”

“Me too,” Valerie smiled at him. “I’ve waited a very long time for today as well.”

“Really?” Gavin’s lips curled into a slight smile. “Don’t tell me you’re going to bring up those parallel realities again?”

“I know you don’t believe me.”

“I do believe you. Valerie, you’re my wife. Whatever you say, I’ll believe it.”

Ever since they filed their marriage license, Valerie would occasionally mention events he had

never heard of before.

At first, he had been skeptical, but over time, he chose to trust every single word that left her lips.

“Gavin Garrison, do you take Valerie Vance to be your lawfully wedded wife, to cherish, protect, and love her until the end of your days?”

Gavin nodded firmly, “I do.”

“Valerie Vance, do you -‘

“Let go of me! Let me in! I need to see Valerie!”

Before the minister could finish the vows, a loud commotion erupted outside the doors.

Valerie turned her head and saw Jonathan being held back by security.

His eyes were bloodshot as he begged her not to marry Gavin.

“Valerie, don’t marry him! Come back to me! I finally see what I did wrong. I swear I’ll never betray you again. Please don’t marry him! I’m begging you!”

“I’ve lost my company, I’ve lost my son, I can’t lose you too! Valerie, give me one more chance!”

Watching his hysterical breakdown, Valerie felt absolutely nothing.

Withdrawing her gaze, she looked calmly at the minister. “Please continue.”

“Do you take Gavin Garrison to be your lawfully wedded husband, to love and honor him through all the days of your life?”

“Valerie, don’t!”

“I’m begging you, don’t marry him!”

“I love you, Valerie! I really love you!”
