On My Wedding Day, I Married Someone Else Chapter 12

“And next time she catches a cold, figure it out yourself. Nothing else is coming out of my kitchen for her.”

Derek stood frozen. Muttering.

“You’re still punishing me. All of this—it’s because of Tiffany, isn’t it? You jealous, possessive woman.”

“I told you. She’s alone. She’s pitiful. We’re just friends. Why won’t you believe me?”

I shook my head. This conversation was absurd.

“Derek. Whether I believe you doesn’t matter anymore. I don’t want to make things hard for you. Don’t want to stand between you and your poor friend. So I’ll leave. I’ll step aside. I’ll give you what you want.”

Derek stared. He couldn’t comprehend how it had come to this.

“I don’t want this. Savannah. You can’t do this to me…”

“Yes you do. You want a wife who obeys your every word. Who turns a blind eye to you taking care of other women. A blind, mute doormat who applauds while you swipe your card for another woman’s handbag. Who validates your pathetic generosity and self-satisfaction. But Derek. I don’t want to swallow my dignity anymore. The man I want—his heart, his eyes—only me. Just me. That’s what marriage is.”

It all poured out. Years of swallowed pain. Every resentment.

We were already at the end. No point holding back.
