He Slept With Her In My House I Made It His Worst Mistake Chapter 10

The divorce moved quickly.

Mr. Vance told me, “Your case is very straightforward. Your premarital assets are clearly documented. Ownership is not in dispute. His misconduct during the marriage is well established, and the evidence is solid. This is highly favorable for

you.”

Bradley refused to sign at first.

Then Mr. Vance sent him a list.

If the case went to court, the following would be submitted as evidence: bank statements, Chloe’s testimony, door lock

records, message screenshots.

Three days later, he signed.

He walked away with nothing.

The apartment was mine. The car was in my name. As for the savings, I didn’t take the four thousand dollars left in his

account.

He took his clothes and a gaming laptop.

As for Chloe.

She resigned.

Before she left, she told me one last thing.

“Ms. Rhodes, the rent he charged me… four months, twelve thousand dollars total. Can you help me get it back?”

I answered calmly, “Talk to my lawyer. He’ll handle it for you.”

“Thank you.”

She paused at the door, then turned back.

“Ms. Rhodes.”

I nodded. “Yes?”

“He’s not stupid. He’s just… not a good person. He’s actually very sharp. Calculates everything. Just always at someone else’s expense.”

Then she left.

Later, Bradley’s mother called my mom once.

My mom told me exactly what she said.

“She cried for ten minutes straight. Said Bradley was immature. Said it was her fault for not raising him right. Said…”

I asked, “And then?”

My mom said. “I told her this. ‘Mrs. Thorne, nine hundred sixty thousand dollars. My daughter saved for six years to buy

that place.”

“Your son used it to house another woman. You’re telling me now you didn’t raise him right. That’s not something you say after the fact. That’s something you prove while raising him.””

My mom doesn’t usually talk that much in one go.

After that, she sighed. “About you finding someone in the future…”

I immediately went on guard. “Mom.”

She took the hint. “Alright. I’ll drop it.”

Bradley eventually went back to his hometown.

Mr. Vance said he found a sales job there. Five thousand a month. Rented a cheap apartment.

One time, I ran into the property manager at the entrance of Lakeside Vista.

She said, “Ms. Rhodes, your husband… oh, sorry, your ex. He came by before. Asked for your new passcode. We didn’t give it

to him.”

I nodded. “Good.”

“He said he still had things inside.”

I shook my head. “He doesn’t. I shipped everything back to him. Cash on delivery.”

She looked at me, then smiled.
