I’ve Been Suspicious Since The Day I Was Born Chapter 09

“Psych ward?” I laughed and yanked free.

“Even if you send me, they’d have to be willing to take me.”

I smoothed my collar and swept my gaze over Mrs. Shaw and Nina.

“You better pray I’m actually crazy. Otherwise, you’re the ones going to jail.”

“How dare you!” My dad raised his hand.

“Hit me.” I didn’t flinch. “And I’ll upload every surveillance video online. Let all our relatives, and Nina’s future college classmates, see exactly what your ‘sweet girl’ is really like.”

His hand froze.

He stared into my fearless eyes and didn’t dare strike.

He was afraid. Afraid his “crazy” daughter would actually burn everything down.

“Elena… what did you record?” My mom’s voice shook.

She knew me too well.

She knew I never made accusations without proof.

If I’d installed cameras, I’d sensed something.

“Living room. Now.” I turned and walked out.

Mrs. Shaw’s crying stopped for a second.

She and Nina exchanged a panicked look.

Then they composed themselves and followed.

In the living room, I ignored them and went straight to the TV.

I pulled out the backup phone from my secret compartment.

“Give me that!” My dad tried to grab it.

I dodged and grabbed a fruit knife from the coffee table, pointing it at him.

“Back off.” My voice was quiet but steel.

He stepped back, cursing.

I ignored him and connected the phone to the TV.

“Nina, you asked what I recorded?”

I grinned.

“I’ll show you right now.”
