After we finished dealing with the mess, we were about to leave.

But just then, Bella arrived.

She walked into the banquet hall with a radiant smile.

The diamond necklace she wore was the one she had taken from my jewelry box the year I left. It looked like it was made for her. Asher’s gaze flickered away, but he kept his arm around her waist.

“Sister, what a coincidence,” Bella’s voice was sickeningly sweet. “Asher and I heard you were back. We were so worried about you.”

I ignored her, focusing on adjusting Leo’s collar.

It was no coincidence to run into her at Marcus Vance’s birthday party.

“Mommy, why is that lady staring at you?” Leo whispered in my ear.

Damian smoothly took Leo from me and held him.

“Daddy!”

Leo happily wrapped his arms around his neck.

Bella’s smile froze.

Her eyes were glued to Damian, her fingers tightening unconsciously on Asher’s arm until he winced in pain.

Her reaction wasn’t surprising. Although Damian had been with me in the Stormcrest Pack lands for years, he was the Alpha of the Blackrock Pack, a wolf that countless packs across the continent wished to align with. He was just notoriously private. I didn’t expect Bella to recognize him.

But it made sense. Bella, who had always craved being an Alpha’s mate, knew the background of nearly every powerful Alpha. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have been so determined to steal Asher from me.

“And you are?” Asher asked hesitantly, his eyes darting between me and Damian.

“My mate, Damian,” I replied with a small smile.
