I Dragged Him To The Exam And He Destroyed My Future For Her Chapter 06

Fall of sophomore year. After taking a gap year to prep, Skylar got into Lakehurst State College, a second-tier school forty minutes from my university by train.

She was thrilled, posting a picture of her acceptance letter on Instagram with the caption: [Finally made it!]

I thought being on opposite sides of the city would keep us out of each other’s way.

But I underestimated Skylar.

Mid-October. I was studying in the library when my roommate, Charlotte Cheney, messaged me: [Hey, some girl left a comment under our department’s Instagram post about you, about high school. Did you see?]

I frowned and opened the department’s feed, where the latest post featured an award I’d won.

In the comments, an account named “skylar_t” had written:

[This is Megan Holloway, my high school classmate. On SAT day, she deliberately didn’t tell anyone on the bus that there was traffic. Forty of us were late; several missed the exam entirely.]

She took a ride-share and left early by herself, didn’t take anyone with her. And now she’s winning awards? Her character’s trash.]

Someone replied: [For real?]

“skylar_t” answered: [100% real. I’m one of the people affected. She was mad at my boyfriend, took off on her own, and kept giving bad advice that ruined the exam for all of us.]

I stared at the screen for a long moment.

Charlotte messaged again: [Megan, who is this? Is that true?]

[No.] I replied.

[Do you want to clear it up? A lot of people are asking in the comments.]

[No need. I’ll have it removed and talk to the department.]

I contacted the department’s social media manager, and they deleted the comment quickly.

But that wasn’t the end of it.

Over the next month, Skylar cycled through seven or eight fake accounts. Every public post I appeared in, she’d be in the comments.

Same script, over and over: Megan ruined people’s exams, bad character, selfish.

Charlotte was furious. “Does this person have a problem? Are you going to call the Title IX office?”

“Not yet.”

“So you’re just going to take it?”

I leaned back in my chair and took a deep breath.

Take it? Not a chance.

But not yet.

Based on how they operated in my last life, Chad was probably already gearing up.

Sure enough, early November, I got an email.

Subject line: [Megan, I think you should know something.]

The message read: [Chad’s been adding people from our high school class. He’s asking everyone to post on your university’s forums about what happened on exam day, and he wrote a script for them to follow. I didn’t agree, but I know a few people who did. Screenshots attached.]

Attached were three screenshots of Chad’s chat threads with three different people.

[Hey, do me a favor. Register on Ashford University’s student forum and post this message…]

[Just say you’re a witness and you saw Megan deliberately not tell anyone about the traffic…]

[Don’t worry. It’s not like anyone can trace it to you.]

I saved the screenshots.

In my last life, I’d been completely unprepared, and they landed a fatal blow.

This life? I’d let them dig their own grave, then watch them fall into it.
