Bruno’s face clouded over instantly.

“Blythe Sinclair. There you go again, using my mother against me.”

“It’s all you’ve ever known how to do. Run to the grown-ups. What else can you do?”

“When I was a kid, my mother controlled my every move. Then I had to listen to you lecturing me. I’ve had enough.”

“From now on, you stay out of Santoro family business. I decide who has a say in this family.”

Tiffany’s eyes gleamed.

“Now that’s a real man.”

“My boyfriend is the sole heir to the Santoro fortune. Of course he’s going to be the one calling the shots.”

I glanced at Bruno but didn’t answer.

Bruno’s father died young. For years, Aunt Isabella had single-handedly held the entire group together.

The Sinclair and Santoro families had been partners for decades; our businesses were deeply intertwined.

If the engagement collapsed because of me, I couldn’t just wash my hands of it.

“Bruno, I’ll say this one last time.”

“Tiffany owes me an apology. And so do you.”

“Neither of you has shown me, or the Sinclair family, an ounce of respect today.”

“If you admit you were wrong, right now, I can let this go. If not, you’ll have to live with the consequences.”

Bruno looked at me with undisguised contempt.

“I know you, Blythe. All you know how to do is use your family to bully people.”

I pulled out my phone.

“Are you going to apologize or not?”

Tiffany burst out laughing.

“You’re just embarrassing yourself.”
