The Unwanted Mrs. Whitmore Chapter 06

The Unwanted Mrs. Whitmore Chapter 06

Inside the room, the others were still taking cheap shots at Lena.

Callum watched blankly and did not stop them.

In his hand, he played with the lid of his lighter, flicking it open and shut.

It was a habit he had when he was irritated.

In the past, Blake would definitely have joined in, saying a few bad things about Lena to make

Callum happy.

But what he had just seen shocked him too much.

He stood stiffly at the door, drawing Vivian’s attention.

“Blake, why are you standing there? What’s wrong?”

Blake pressed his lips together.

“I… I saw Lena.”

When Vivian heard that, she glanced at Callum’s expression.

Then she smirked.

“She really followed us here? When is she going to stop clinging to Callum? Gold diggers like her are honestly embarrassing.”

Callum’s face eased.

He slowly stood up.

“Where is she? Trying to drag me home again?”

“That kind of woman loves playing games. She can’t hide anything.”

As he spoke, he started walking out, and there was even a trace of a smile in his eyes.

Blake quickly called after him.

“Callum.”

“Yeah?”

“You… you shouldn’t go over there.”

“Why?”

“She’s on a date with another man.”

The noisy room went instantly quiet.

Callum’s face turned cold, and his gaze snapped to Blake.

“What did you say?”

Blake couldn’t help swallowing.

“She… she’s on a date with another man.”

The moment the words left his mouth, Callum rushed out.

Afraid something would happen, everyone followed behind him.

But they discovered that after Callum rushed out, he stopped not far away.

He stared straight ahead.

There, his wife was kissing another man.

That woman who had always seemed unremarkable, ordinary, and easy to dismiss, the woman they all called a social climber.

At that moment, she was fully relaxed in another man’s arms.

Her expression was unbelievably sweet, and there was clear anticipation in her eyes.

The 2 of them were completely lost in the kiss.

After a while, Lena leaned her head against the man’s neck and said, “Evan, let’s go home.

Evan took a deep breath and kissed Lena’s forehead again.

“Okay. Let’s go.”

Hand in hand and shoulder to shoulder, the 2 of them paid the bill and left.

From beginning to end, Callum didn’t say a word.

He didn’t move a step.

I spent the afternoon at Evan’s rental apartment.

That evening, he had to meet some former classmates, so I planned to go home and pack.

We were getting divorced anyway.

It was better to sort things out early.

Once the divorce was final, I would go abroad with Evan directly.

My mind kept running through all of that, so I didn’t notice that something felt off/around me.

When I pushed open the door and turned on the lights, Callum was sitting on the sofa in the center

of the living room.

His expression looked terrible, his anger barely held down.

“Where were you this afternoon?”

I answered honestly, “On a date.”

I had already told him this.

But Callum suddenly lost his temper.

He swept the glass off the table, sending it crashing to the floor.

The sharp sound of breaking glass rang through the room.

As if that still wasn’t enough, he kicked over a chair and smashed the decorations I liked.

Finally, he rushed up to me, his eyes frighteningly red.

“Lena, you’re my wife. My wife. How could you make me look like a joke?”

I frowned.

“Weren’t you the one who told me to find someone else?”

“You all said it. A woman like me, with no family name, no status, and an ordinary face, should find someone in my own league, live a normal life, build a normal family, and stop trying to belong somewhere I never should have been.”

“You told me to find someone. So I did.”

“Evan is very smart and hardworking. With him, I’ll be okay. You don’t need to worry. After the divorce, I won’t come back looking for you.”

I really couldn’t figure out what he was angry about.

He acted as if he had been deeply wronged.

Jealousy didn’t even cross my mind.

After figuring that out, I said to him, “Callum, don’t be angry. Not many people know about me and him. After I divorce you, I’ll leave the country. No one will make fun of you.”

Callum felt a breath catch in his throat, nearly choking him.

He couldn’t say why he was this furious.

But looking at me, calm and steady in front of him, he found he had nowhere to put that anger.

He gritted his teeth and endured it for a long while.

In the end, he still couldn’t hold back.

He slammed the door and stormed out.

He went straight to Vivian’s place.
