Betrayed Twice, I Pretended Amnesia To Take Revenge On My Alpha Mate And Sister Chapter 07

I grabbed everything within reach and hurled it at him, eyes red as I screamed, “You can’t even keep something this important safe. You don’t love me at all. I want to break the mate bond.”

The words “break the mate bond” sent him straight into panic.

He dropped to his knees on the spot and started explaining.

“It was my fault, but I can have the priest draft a new one. I swear I’ll keep it safe this time. Please believe me, okay?”

In the end, after repeated rounds of kneeling, begging, and transferring a massive amount of pack assets into my name, I finally relented and agreed to go with him to have the priest witness a new contract. A fresh start.

When we got in the car, I deliberately sat in the back seat.

The moment I did, Clarence smiled and reminded me, “Baby, did you forget? You get carsick in the

back.”

I looked out the window without turning around. “I don’t want to sit up front. I have a feeling some other she-wolf has been in that seat.”

His face went rigid.

Then he forced out an awkward smile. “No. No one’s sat there. But if you don’t like it, we’ll get a different car when we get back.”

I gave him nothing in return.

Getting the new contract was quick.

But the moment I had it in my hands, I grabbed his wrist and made as if to tear it apart.

“A replacement doesn’t change anything. We break the bond first, then form a new one.

He didn’t want that, of course.

But by now he had no idea how to handle this new version of me–

A version that was willful, that threw tantrums, that knew exactly where to dig the knife in.

Especially when I looked up at him with glistening eyes and demanded, “What, are you afraid that

once it’s broken, you won’t want me anymore? You heartless bastard.”

That threw him into even deeper panic.

“How could I not?” he said. “Fine. I’ll do whatever you say.

The pack metnbers nearby watched me like I was an unreasonable, unfit Luna.

I didn’t bother correcting them, and Clarence just played along.

“My future Luna,” he said with a resigned sort of indulgence. “I should spoil her.”

He was so lost in the joy of getting a second chance that he never noticed the predator’s gleam in my

eyes.

On the drive back to the pack house, we set a date for the new mating ceremony.

One month from now.

Because I insisted we needed to “re-establish boundaries,” we slept in separate rooms for the

entire month.

Clarence played the role of the devoted mate to perfection.

He came to see me the moment pack business was done, brought me expensive gifts, and did everything in his power to help me recover my memories.

Then one evening, I walked toward him holding a glass of milk, a sweet smile on my face.

“Clarence, I remembered something.”

The moment I spoke, he went still.

Then I smiled wider and continued, “I remember you like a glass of warm milk before bed. I used to make one for you every night.”

I kept smiling, watching the color slowly drain from his face.

But his pride wouldn’t let him correct me.

He took the glass with trembling hands and drank it down in one go, like a toast.

That night, Clarence–who was allergic to dairy–spent every hour curled up in agony from

stomach cramps.

But that was only the beginning.
