He Chose Her, I Took Back Everything Chapter 05

He Chose Her, I Took Back Everything Chapter 05

Helena’s POV

Chloe panicked.

She screamed. “What are you doing?! This is Mr. Reed’s company. You can’t do this here!”

“Security! Somebody call security!” She twisted toward Caleb. “Mr. Reed, help me! Let go. You’re hurting me!”

Caleb’s Alpha scent flared, hot and aggressive, pressing down on my enforcers. “Call them off! Let her go.

Now!”

I didn’t even look at him. “Restrain him too.”

The enforcers moved on Caleb before he could react, same hold, same wall. His cheek was pressed against

the cold white surface, his face flushing a deep, furious red.

“Are you out of your mind?! You storm into my company with your people and put your hands on me? What

the hell do you want, Helena?!”

“Nothing much.” I walked up to him, taking my time.

“Someone stole my Voss Pack Bank card and used it to buy a Phantom. Add the three cars before that, and

the total damage is north of two million. I want my money back.”

Behind me, Chloe was still screaming for security. Nobody moved. Every employee on the floor was frozen in

place. My enforcers had the entire level locked down.

I looked down at Chloe.

“You committed financial fraud. You think building security is going to help? Not one guard in this tower

could override a Voss enforcement order.”

The color drained from Chloe’s face. “Then call the Pack Council! Someone call the Council!”

“Good idea.” I nodded. “Go ahead. Call them.”

“Three vehicles registered in my name, destroyed. Then my private bank card was stolen and used to

purchase a luxury car. Put those together, and the Pack Financial Crimes Unit will tear your life apart.”

Every ounce of bravado drained out of Chloe. She was crying now, words tumbling out.

“Mr. Reed said he’d cover the money! And the car, Mr. Reed bought it for me! I didn’t steal your card!”

She turned to Caleb, sobbing. “Mr. Reed, please, tell her to let us go. It hurts, please.”

Caleb’s jaw locked. “Helena, have you completely lost it?!”

“I used the card. So what? I’m your mate.”

“You knew the freeze was processing, so you took my primary card to bypass it before the system caught

up.”

“We’re mated! The assets are shared! Are you really going to call the Council on me? Have me thrown in the

cells?”

I held his stare.

“First, that card is tied to a private trust my father set up for me. It was never a mate-shared asset.”

“Second, even if it were shared property, you didn’t spend it on our life together. You spent it on a car for

another she-wolf. Pack mating law gives me every right to claw it back.”

That finally cracked him. The defiance on his face wavered.

I pulled out my phone and checked the time.

“Two options. Transfer the money back to my account right now, or I send you both to the Pack holding

cells. You’ve got three minutes. Choose carefully.”

The office was dead quiet.

I watched the clock.

“Five seconds.”

“Five.”

“Four.”

“Three.”

“Two.”

“One.”

I looked up at them. “Money. Or the cells?”

Caleb saw I wasn’t bluffing. The fight went out of him. When he spoke again, his voice had dropped, almost

pleading.

“Babe. I said I’ll pay you back. Reed Group dividends hit this month. I’ll cover everything, including today. Just

call your people off. We’re mated. Let’s talk about this like adults.”

I let out a short laugh.

“Your company dividends are mate-shared property too, Caleb. So you want to pay me back with my own money?”

“Besides, last month’s dividends wouldn’t even cover a tire. What, they’re going to magically multiply by ten?”

Caleb’s voice cracked. “Then what do you want me to do?!”

I reached into my bag and pulled out a severance and divorce agreement. I held it out to him.

“Sign it. Once the property is divided and the bond is severed, we’ll settle every last cent.”

Caleb stared at the papers. His mouth opened, but nothing came out.

“Over a car? You want to sever our bond over a car? We’ve been mated for three years, Helena. Three years.

Does that mean less to you than a piece of metal?”

I corrected him.

“It’s not one car. It’s four.”

“And it was never about the cars. Caleb, you crossed a line.”

“Maybe you haven’t taken her to bed yet. But your behavior already violates the loyalty of a mate.”

“So I’m done. I don’t want you anymore.”
