“Just a Freak Show, Don’t Be Dramatic” Chapter 04

“Just a Freak Show, Don’t Be Dramatic” Chapter 04 Karma Is a Bitch

I stayed in the hospital for two days to rest.

And to destroy the things I couldn’t take with me.

But Axel showed up. He held my hand and looked so sincere.

“You are too badly hurt right now. Can I quit your hospital job for you? Will you blame me?”

I was leaving soon, so I didn’t bother talking to him. I just nodded.

He was a bit surprised I said yes so easily.

Axel knew I used to treat my hospital job as a lifelong cause.

Dylan ran in and asked, “Nancy, tomorrow is Willow’s party. Are you going?”

I was leaving tomorrow, so of course I said no.

I spoke lightly, “I’m not healed yet. I’m not going.”

Axel and Dylan went pale, as if they just realized what I’d been through.

I didn’t bother looking at their faces, turned around, and walked out.

The next day, I was forced to the party.

Willow wanted to flex, so she had Axel “invite” me there.

I stood in the corner expressionless, figuring out how to ruin them after I recovered.

Willow wouldn’t let it go, and walked right over.

Smirking, she said, “Karma is a bitch. You were so arrogant and ignored me years ago.

“But now, your husband, your brother, and your position are mine.

“You will be crushed under my feet forever!”

I swept my eyes over her and replied, “Just some trash. Take it if you like. It’s all you’re capable of seeing anyway.”

Willow’s face twisted. “You still dare to talk big to me? I’ll make you regret it!”

With those words, she threw the ring straight into the pool.

She immediately jumped in, grabbing for it while crying out, “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to take yours.”

Axel ran over, seeing through the whole thing in a second.

He gripped my arm. “You’re taking it too far. I’ll teach you a lesson today for messing with Willow!

“Someone! Tie her behind the boat. No one pulls her up unless I say so.”

I couldn’t swim at all. I looked at Dylan, begging for help with my eyes.

He looked completely disappointed.

“You’re too vicious, Sis. Go cool off in the water.”

I begged and explained, but he didn’t care about my bleeding wounds and tied me to the yacht.

When the party was over, Axel finally remembered to get me out.

The assistant burst in.

“Nancy is missing! There’s no one behind the boat!”

Axel and Dylan’s faces changed instantly, and they ran out like crazy.
