The Wolf Princess’s Seven Promised Mates Chapter 07

The Wolf Princess’s Seven Promised Mates Chapter 07

My wolf, Snow, comforted me deep within my mind.

“Don’t cry. Hold it in.”

“A future Queen must never shed tears so easily.”

“If they fall, never let anyone see them.”

Silas’s entire body went rigid, and I could feel his aura shift completely.

He gently stroked the back of my neck, his voice soft and soothing.

“Don’t cry, my princess. I will find you a far better necklace.”

After fastening the Tear of the Ocean around Selina’s neck, Damian’s gaze fell on me, lingering for several long seconds.

But I had no desire to look back at him.

I heard Damian let out a cold huff, speaking sharply to Silas.

“Without sufficient strength, don’t be a reckless hero and play the knight.”

He then turned his gaze back to me, his tone flat and unyielding.

“Princess Aurora, you should have gotten into my car.”

I wiped away my tears and lifted my chin, shooting him a proud smile.

“But your sports car already has someone else in it.”

I, Princess Aurora, would never share a car—or a man—with anyone.

With that, I turned on my heel and left, never glancing back at Damian again.

Humiliated by the fiasco at the auction, I secluded myself in the palace for the next few days.

To put it another way, I stayed faithfully by my father’s side, learning every detail of kingdom governance. I had to stand on my own two feet, for my promised mates were no longer reliable to lean on.

Of course, my earnest efforts meant nothing to them.

I did not even need to eavesdrop to know what they thought of me.

They surely believed I was running to my father to tattle, acting like a fragile, melodramatic little princess.

They chose to isolate me entirely as a group.

Silas came to see me several times during those days, bringing my favorite desserts with him each time.

Yet I paid him little attention, for I knew his affection was never genuine.

He had admitted it himself once—he had even jumped off a building just to distance himself from me.

That night, the seven promised mates gathered in the living room, bickering among themselves.

“Aurora hasn’t left her room or smiled once these days. We have to find a way to cheer her up. If the Alpha King grows angry over this, none of us will escape the consequences.”

“It’s such a hassle. I don’t want to go. I still need to keep Selina company.”

“Do you think I’d rather stay here than be with Selina? It’s the old rule—only the one who soothes Aurora earns the right to seek out Selina.”

They all hesitated and shifted the burden to one another, none willing to come upstairs to comfort me.

Little did they know, I heard every single word.

After accidentally uncovering their secrets before, I had proposed to the Council of Elders to install surveillance cameras throughout the palace under the pretense of boosting royal security.

I wanted to hear exactly what these seven promised mates said about me behind my back.

More importantly, in twenty days, I would hold my engagement ceremony and official ascension ceremony. If any of them dared to cause trouble, I would have solid evidence to drive them out for good.

“I’m not going.” Silas’s voice was laced with frustration. “Damian is always the one who offends Aurora, yet we’re always the ones forced to fix his mess. Why should we have to clean up after him?”

“Whoever caused the problem should be the one to fix it!”

Just then, Damian’s tall figure appeared on the surveillance screen.

“None of you need to bother.” Damian’s tone was icy cold. “She’s my woman. I’ll discipline her myself. No need for any of your interference.”

With that, he turned and headed upstairs with a gift box in hand.

I quickly closed the surveillance feed, missing the look of pure fury that settled on every one of the other promised mates’ faces.

“He’s far too arrogant.” Zane clenched his fists tightly. “Aurora hasn’t chosen him yet. What right does he have to claim her as his?”

At his words, Silas let out a bitter, lonely laugh.

“Does it even matter? Aurora will always choose him in the end.”

“We’re nothing but runners-up.”
