I woke up in the middle of the night to use the restroom and overheard voices coming from the hallway.

Moon Goddess above. I’m only twenty, how’d I suddenly get this weird talent for eavesdropping? I keep stumbling on every single vital secret.

“Damian, that went too far,” Silas’s voice echoed through the quiet corridor. “Did you really cut Aurora’s saddle straps on purpose?”

“Even if she pushed Selina down the stairs, you shouldn’t have done that. A fall from a horse could break her neck.”

A quiet sigh came from Damian.

“I only meant to teach her a small lesson. I calculated everything. She wouldn’t have gotten hurt if the horse hadn’t jumped.”

“I’ve made up for it these past few days. I waited on her hand and foot. The score is settled now.”

“Drop the subject. No one speaks of this again.”

A cold chill swept over my entire body as I listened.

He had broken my saddle on purpose, all to avenge Selina.

His kindness over the past days was nothing more than compensation for his mistake, not genuine concern for my injuries.

“Shopping always lifts a girl’s mood. Bid on whatever you want. I’ll cover all the costs.”

I shot him a sharp look.

“You’re just spending kingdom funds, aren’t you?”

I never cared about money before, but their lies had changed everything.

“Don’t underestimate me,” Silas laughed. “I’m not the only talented one here. I’ve made plenty of money from overseas investments over the years. I can spoil you properly.”

A real smile finally tugged at my lips. If it was his own money, I had no reason to hold back. I would take every penny as compensation for all the lies and hurt.

“Alright then. I’m going to spend you dry. Let’s go to the auction.”

The auction hall was packed with nobles and influential figures from all packs.

The most anticipated lot of the night was a jewelry set named Tear of the Ocean. It featured the largest blue diamond ever mined in South Africa.

I loved the ocean, and I was determined to claim this set for myself.

I took my seat, only to see Damian walk in with Selina moments later. My smile faded instantly.

I knew exactly what was coming. Selina would fight me for the Tear of the Ocean.
