When He Said I Was The Replacement, I Said Finally Chapter 11

When He Said I Was The Replacement, I Said Finally Chapter 11

“Don’t worry. I won’t interfere in the relationship between you and him. I know you two have been

classmates since high school, and you truly love him. I owe him so much, so how could I stand in

the way of his happiness?”

It seemed Yves’ mother had sensed my anxiety. She said gently, “That boy must have gone through so much hardship. I just hope you’ll treat him well. As for Yves, I’ll talk him out of it.”

To be honest, even though I was anxious, there was no way I wouldn’t help Cyrus rejoin his

biological family.

Yet her words did comfort me, and eased a lot of my worries.

The most important thing, after all, was Cyrus’ own opinion.

When I told Cyrus about this, his reaction was surprisingly calm.

In the end, he asked me back, “Do you want me to be just Cyrus, or the son of the Stuart family?”

“No matter if you’re Cyrus Swan, Cyrus Stuart or something, you’re still the one I love.”

“But if I’m the son of the Stuart family, I can give you a life far better than what I have now.”

So that was what he was worried about.

I laughed. “Did you forget how poor you were when I fell in love with you? I never care how rich you are. Even if you’re still poor, I’m willing to support you. All I want is for you to be happy.

“Besides, if I really cared that much about money, I would just get together with Yves. Why would I bother chasing you?”

Cyrus’ Adam’s apple moved. He held me tightly, touched, and said, “Elena, you’re such an angel. I can’t bear to let you go.”

“Then don’t.’

“But I’m afraid you’ll fall for someone else someday. I’m scared I’ll lose control and hurt you.”

Hearing such a vulnerable confession from Cyrus, I didn’t feel scared at all. The only thing I feared was that his love for me wasn’t deep enough.

I hugged him back and whispered, “Cyrus, I can never fall in love with anyone else in this lifetime.”

All my affection had been given to this person since I was young. I could never love another with the same passion and devotion.

Cyrus reconnected with the Stuart family.

But he didn’t fully move back but still lived his life according to his original rhythm.

Everything he had today was built with his own hard work. Only he knew all the hardships and

struggles he went through.

If he just easily accepted all those privileges and benefits just for the title of son of the Stuart family, it would be like erasing all the effort he put in over the years.

Of course I supported his decision, and I knew this was exactly who Cyrus was-the Cyrus I fell in

love with.

I just never expected that he would propose to me. It happened much sooner than I imagined.

I stood in the proposal scene he had arranged, waiting excitedly for him to come.

But Yves arrived before him.

I had tried my best to avoid meeting Yves, and I thought after his mother’s persuasion, he would have let go. After all, Cyrus was his brother now. It would be really unreasonable for him to still hold on to his feelings.

But Yves had clearly been spoiled and was extremely self-centered.

He strode toward me, holding a bouquet of flowers and a ring box in his hands.

“Elena, I love you. I know you love money-didn’t you get close to me just for money? I can give you everything he offers to you. Not only the Stuart family fortune, I also own a lot of businesses in my own name. I can give you anything you want. Marry me, okay?”

“Yves, why can’t you understand? The person I love is Cyrus, and it has nothing to do with money. I love him even if he has nothing.

“We can never be together. I don’t want us to keep feeling awkward every time we meet in the

future.”

Cyrus was standing not far away wearing a mascot costume. He froze for a moment, and I tensed up.

But very quickly, he walked toward me with a smile, completely ignoring Yves’ presence. He

clumsily knelt down on one knee in front of me.

Without too many words, he just looked at me gently and said one sentence, “Elena, marry me.

That was enough to touch me.

I nodded fiercely without hesitation, holding out my hand for him to put the ring on.

Yves stood beside us, his face dark.

I wiped away my tears and said to Yves seriously, “You think I love money the most, but that’s not true. The person I love most is Cyrus. It’s because of him that I want money.”

Both Cyrus and Yves looked at me in surprise.

“Cyrus was very poor before. He didn’t dare to date because he was poor, and he suffered a lot of bullying because of poverty. That’s why I wanted to become really rich-so I could support him, protect him, make his life less hard, and let him be with me sooner.

“I admit that the deal I made with your mother wasn’t fair to you, and I’m sincerely sorry for that. But Yves, it’s time for you to let go.”

Yves left with an ashen face.

I looked back, and saw that Cyrus was lost in thought.

“What are you thinking about?” I asked.

Cyrus blinked and looked down at me. “I’m thinking whether I should accept the Stuart family’s

offer.

“You’ve worked so hard just to support me. I should try my best to give you a better life, too.”

I frowned in disapproval. “Cyrus, I already told you I don’t care about this.”

“But I care. I want you to have the best life possible, the very best.”

I looked at his serious expression, thought for a moment with my head tilted, and quickly

understood.

“Whatever you want is fine. After all, you are the son of the Stuart family, it’s there for the taking. It would be a loss for you if you just let Yves have all of it.”

Cyrus smiled and gently stroked my hair. “Okay, I’ll take it. And everything will be yours.”
