The Silver Moon Princess Returns: The Alpha Begins to Regret Chapter 04

The Silver Moon Princess Returns: The Alpha Begins to Regret Chapter 04

The next day, I got a call from the pack hospital saying my recent test results were ready.

threw a few things together and rushed to there.

The healer slid the report across the table to me with a warm smile.
“Congratulations, Emily. You’re going to have a pup.”

My hands trembled nonstop as I gripped the slip of paper.

For three long years, I’d hoped and prayed for a pup with Daniel. But he no longer loved me. What point was there to this pup now?

If I told Daniel about the baby, could we still fix what was broken between us?

Lost in thought, I stepped out of the exam room and ran straight into Layla.

Her face lit up the moment she saw me, and she rushed over. “Emily! What a coincidence! What are you doing here?”

I quickly slipped the ultrasound report behind my back “What brings you here?”

She held up her own medical form. “I’ve lost my appetite and been throwing up on and off lately, so I came to get checked out. My friend thought I might be pregnant. I’ve told him so many times, but he never takes any precautions.”

She complained playfully about Daniel, her voice soft and teasing.

Her words dragged my mind back to their intimate moments from the

night before, and my stomach turned.

“What about you? Why are you at the pack hospital?”

I fought down the revulsion rising inside me. My voice came out dry and hollow. “Oh, it’s nothing. Just a little cold.”

I even forced a weak, fake smile.

Suddenly, a frantic man came rushing toward us, holding a small pup in his arms. “Move aside! Healer! Please help my pup!”

I reached for Layla’s wrist to pull her out of the way, but the man slammed into us hard. The brutal force of the collision threw us completely off balance, and we crashed to the floor.

Layla landed on top of me, which kept her from the worst of the fall. My back hit the hard floor brutally.

Just then, I saw Daniel walking toward us.

His face went pale the second he saw Layla on the ground. He raced over. “Layla! Are you alright? Where does it hurt? It’s okay, I’m here.”

He gently helped her up. Then his crimson eyes snapped toward me, still lying on the floor.

“Emily! What are you doing here?! You knew about Layla this whole time, didn’t you?! Did you push her down on purpose? Were you trying to hurt her and our unborn pup?”

I never got the chance to explain. Layla’s quiet sobs destroyed whatever reason Daniel had left.

He charged at me like a wild animal, closing the distance in two

strides. He lifted his foot and kicked me as hard as he could, right in my stomach.

Agony exploded through my body.

Daniel stared down at me with pure hatred in his eyes. “Is stalking me every single day worth it to you? Sneaking around like a sewer rat, repulsive and pathetic.”

Warm blood began to flow from between my legs, quickly staining my white dress red.

Shaking violently, I stretched out my hand with the last of my strength. “Daniel… please… help me…”

Help our pup.

We’d lost a pup once before. Back then, I’d burned myself out completely running the pack and managing his company, and I lost the baby. He’d held me tight in that hospital bed, tears streaming down his face as he swore to me.

“Emily, I’ll never let you or our pup get hurt again.”

But now he’d broken that promise with his own hands. He’d destroyed our pup with his own hands.

He kicked my hand away in disgust and barked an order to Mark, who stood nearby. “Take Emily away. Teach her a proper lesson for her actions.”
