The Deceived Luna Chapter 07

The Deceived Luna Chapter 07

But the beta didn’t move.

That beta had once been my father’s trusted right hand.

He had worked for my father for over a decade.

After my father died, he had been secretly helping me all along.

The beta looked at me, his eyes filled with sorrow.

The footage continued.

Draven and Nadia did it secretly in the pack house countless times.

The worst time, while I was away, they got intimate in the living room, clothes scattered everywhere.

Grace suddenly ran out of her room.

She saw her daddy and Nadia holding each other. She froze.

“Daddy…”

Draven grabbed Grace by her clothes and locked her in the basement.

Grace pounded on the door, crying until her voice went hoarse.

“Daddy! Let me out! I’m scared of the dark! Daddy!”

My heart shattered watching this.

The screen switched again.

Nadia stood at the entrance of the fake Blackstone Cave, giving orders to the two bodyguards.

There was no smile on her face, only hatred.

“Why does that bitch get to be princess her whole life?”

“Why does she get all the wealth while I grew up being passed around as an orphan?”

“Her parents were wary of me too. They never gave me anything.”

“I’m going to take everything she has, including her man.”

After that came scenes of me and Grace being tortured inside the prison.

The bodyguards lashed my back with silver whips, strike after strike, until I lost consciousness.

Grace curled up in the corner, screaming for her mother.

One bodyguard walked over and kicked her aside.

Grace hit the floor, her forehead split open, blood streaming down her face.

Nadia’s voice came from off screen. “It’s better if they die in there.”

The screen went dark, and the entire venue fell into a terrifying silence.

Among the audience, some men’s eyes grew red with tears.

Some wiped away tears quietly.

Draven stood motionless on the stage.

He had never known, truly never known. The cruelty inside

Blackstone Cave was beyond anything he could bear to watch.

The police took Draven away.

At the station, Draven and Nadia crossed paths.

Before anyone could react, Draven lunged and wrapped his hands around Nadia’s throat.

“You witch! You’re the one who tricked me into locking Isolde and Grace away! You killed Grace!”

Nadia couldn’t breathe.

An officer pried Draven’s hands off. “Calm down!”

Nadia gasped for air, then suddenly burst into manic laughter.

“Draven, why are you losing your mind at me?”

“You agreed to lock them up. And sleeping with me? That was you not keeping it in your pants!”

Draven covered his face in agony. “You witch, you kept lying to me, saying Isolde abused you as a child, that Grace bullied you. You killed my daughter!”

Nadia laughed. “Draven, don’t act like you’re any better.”

“If you actually cared about them, how come you never visited them in three years?”

“Oh, that’s right. You were too busy with me. Blame yourself for being so stupid!”

Draven snapped.

He suddenly charged forward and kicked Nadia hard in her pregnant belly.

Nadia fell to the ground and went rigid with shock.

Between her legs, warm fluid leaked out.

She shrieked. “My baby! My baby!”

That kick from Draven made Nadia lose her unborn child.

But when I heard the news, I felt no satisfaction.

On the day of the trial, I tucked my daughter’s favorite stuffed toy into my pocket.

It was the little bunny Grace had hugged every night when she slept. I had promised her I would take it with me everywhere.

In court, the evidence I provided was presented one piece at a time.

Everyone watched again the footage of me and Grace being abused.

The room fell dead silent.

Draven clenched his fists. His chest hurt so much he could barely breathe.

Watching those images, remembering everything, he closed his eyes, then opened them. They were bloodshot.

After losing her child, Nadia had become very quiet.

She was no longer as arrogant as before. She sat in the defendant’s seat with her head bowed, hair disheveled, face pale.

Both were sentenced to twenty years.

All the property and shares taken from me were returned.

I reached into my pocket and touched Grace’s toy.

Grace, the bad people have finally been punished.

A few months later, news came from the prison.

Draven had stabbed a sharpened toothbrush into his own heart and died instantly.

Nadia got into a fight with another inmate, and her sentence was extended.

A lawyer found me with a letter from Draven.

I was sorting through Grace’s belongings when he arrived.

I opened the letter.

[Isolde, it’s been a long time since I called you that. I’m sorry. I know no amount of apologies will ever make you forgive me.

I was a fool. I listened to Nadia’s lies. I hurt you and our child. I killed Grace.

I’m leaving all my shares to you. I know it doesn’t make up for anything, but it’s the only thing I can do.

I’m sorry.]

I finished reading the letter and burned it.

I took out a large sum of money and started a foundation to help

children in need.

I handed over the management of Moonveil Pack to professional managers.

I bought a plane ticket to the city by the sea that Grace once said she wanted to see.

In time, the pain began to fade.

Some scars never disappear. They become part of who I am, reminding me to live, for Grace.

The world is vast. There are still so many places waiting for me to explore.

There are so many sights Grace never got to see. I will see them for her.
