The Deceived Luna Chapter 06

He whipped around to face Nadia.

“Didn’t you tell me they were fine in there? How did Grace die?”

Nadia’s eyes darted in panic. She stepped back. “I don’t know… Draven, it was an accident…”

“An accident?” Draven stared at her, his eyes bloodshot. “You told me she was playing with her toys. She was fine. You told me!”

Nadia’s lips parted, but no words came out.

He immediately ordered his men to find the two bodyguards. But they had already disappeared.

The day of Grace’s burial, a downpour began.

I sat by the grave, soaked to the bone.

I placed her favorite snacks and a carton of strawberry milk in front of the headstone.

“Grace, Mommy came to see you.”

“Mommy failed to protect you.”

“Don’t worry. Mommy will get justice for you.”

Draven and Nadia were called in for questioning, but somehow, nothing came of it.

I guessed Draven had used his connections to smooth things over.

But the livestream had already gone out.

Countless people had seen the body of that little girl in the resort.

Public outrage erupted.

It had a huge impact on Draven.

During that time, shareholders withdrew from the Draven Group one after another. Partners called to cancel contracts.

Draven’s company faced a massive crisis.

He held a roadshow, hoping to attract investors.

But when he played his PowerPoint presentation, the image that appeared on screen was my daughter lying in the morgue.

Everyone was stunned. Draven was stunned too.

He frantically pressed the remote, trying to kill the feed.

But it wouldn’t switch.

Then the screen started moving.

It was surveillance footage from the pack house.

Back when Grace was still alive, building with blocks.

Nadia called out to her. “Grace, my foot hurts. Come see what’s wrong.”

The moment Grace reached her side, the smile vanished from Nadia’s face.

The next second, Nadia shifted her footing and fell down the stairs by herself.

Draven rushed in from outside.

Grace was terrified. She stood at the top of the stairs, wailing.

Nadia lay on the ground, crying pitifully. “Grace, I won’t take your daddy away. Why did you push me?”

“I’m just staying in your home temporarily. If you don’t like me, I’ll leave…”

Grace was furious. “You evil woman! I didn’t push you! Get out! Get out of my house!”

Draven walked over and barked, “Shut up! So rude!”

He turned to me. “Isolde, this is how you raised her? Just as spoiled, entitled, and unreasonable as you are!”

My face darkened. “Draven, what do you mean by that? Grace said she didn’t push her!”

Draven sneered. “Nadia’s leg is covered in bruises. You can’t see that?”

Grace cried even harder. “Daddy, I didn’t… I really didn’t…”

But Draven walked away without looking back, helping Nadia to the hospital.

The screen switched again.

A stormy night, Draven woke from a dream and went downstairs for water.

He walked into the living room and froze.

Nadia sat on the sofa in a black lace nightgown. She turned to look at him as the strap slipped off her shoulder.

Draven’s Adam’s apple bobbed.

On screen, they stared at each other for a few seconds. Then everything happened very fast.

They fell into each other. From the living room to the kitchen. It went on all night.

Seeing this, Draven’s face turned crimson with rage.

He shouted at the beta on stage, “Turn it off! Turn the projection off!”
