My Fiancé Kissed His “Just a Friend” in the Break Room. Oops—I Kissed Their Freedom Goodbye. Chapter 07

Sasha’s face went pale. Then red.

She looked at Ronan. “Aren’t you going to say something?”

Ronan stood up.

His face was a mess. Left eye swollen shut. Blood on his lip. Nose crooked.

He limped over to my dad.

Then he dropped his gaze. Stared at the floor like it was the most interesting thing in the world.

“Mr. DeLeon. Mrs. DeLeon.” His voice was barely a whisper. “I’m sorry. This is all my fault.”

Sasha froze.

Ronan turned and pointed at Sasha. His finger nearly touched her nose.

“Shut up, Sasha.”

His voice cracked. “You came back and caused all this trouble between me and Vera. Did you ever think about how she would feel? Huh?”

Sasha’s eyes went wide.

“What did you just say to me?” Her voice shot up. “Are you even a man? You kissed me back in the break room. I didn’t force you. And now you’re pretending it didn’t happen?”

Ronan’s hand was shaking. But he clenched his jaw.

“When did I kiss you?” He spat the words. “You practically assaulted me. I didn’t even have time to react. Vera saw it. You made the first move. I had nothing to do with it.”

He turned to me. Desperate. Begging.

“Vera, listen to me. Please. There’s nothing going on between me and Sasha. That was all in the past. Everyone has a past, right?”

“My heart belongs to you. It always has. She’s just a friend. She’s the one who kept pushing, I didn’t move in the break room. She forced herself on me. I swear.”

Sasha scoffed. Blood dripped from her lip onto the floor.

“You’re pathetic, Ronan.” Her voice was cold. “Now that you’ve taken a few hits, suddenly it’s all my fault? You weren’t saying that when you were on top of me.”

Ronan whipped his head around and glared at her.

“Shut up. You’re a woman, for God’s sake. Don’t you have any shame? Not everyone is as shameless as you.”

My dad stayed quiet the whole time. Dark expression. Unreadable.

But my mom? She was thoroughly entertained.

She hugged my arm and leaned in close. Her lips brushed my ear.

“See, baby?” She whispered, smiling. “Watching two dogs tear each other apart? Always the best show.”
