My Mafia Husband Steamed Me and My Child for His Ex-Lover Chapter 02

My Mafia Husband Steamed Me and My Child for His Ex-Lover Chapter 02

[The Soul of Seraphina’s POV]

Another sweet night.

I listened to Rowena act coy in bed, saying she wanted to give Cassian another baby.

Pain twisted through me again and again.

Cassian was right.

In that kind of agony, my child came quickly.

I would rather he had stayed in my belly a little longer.

At least then, I could have taken the pain for him a while longer.

But my baby was too good.

When he came into the world, he let out only a very weak cry.

I once used every bit of strength I had to push the steam cabinet door open a crack and beg the men outside.

“I gave birth. His condition is bad. Please, have mercy. Even if you only save the baby and send him to the hospital, please…”

They stared at me in terror and were just about to turn off the machine when Rowena’s crying voice came from outside.

“Cassian, how can she use the baby’s life to win your sympathy?”

“She’s so lucky. She got pregnant with your child and even had a smooth delivery, but she doesn’t cherish it at all.”

“She knows how badly I want a child… Did she say that on purpose just to rub salt in my wound?”

Watching Rowena collapse into his arms, Cassian’s anger burned even hotter.

“Looks like my punishment still isn’t enough. You still have the strength to use the baby to provoke Rowena?”

“Chain the door shut. She is not allowed to yell out again.”

The men didn’t dare move.

Cassian was so furious that he did it himself, chaining the door shut.

During that time, he faintly heard a baby’s weak cry from inside the cabinet.

He hesitated for a moment.

But Rowena added another line.

“Sera is still so good at imitating voices. It reminds me of that night. It was clearly my first time with you. The next morning, she pretended to be me and lied that the night had been hers…”

Cassian seemed to remember something. The disgust in his eyes could barely be contained.

“Everyone get out. I don’t want Sera fooling you again and making you let her out.”

“When Rowena’s wound stops hurting, I’ll personally let her out.”

He drove every employee away, locked the garage door, and left me inside the scalding steam cabinet while I was still begging.

My baby only cried a few times.

Then he slowly went quiet.

I knew he hadn’t been saved.

Neither had I.

Before my last bit of strength ran out, I used every ounce of force I had left to carve a line of words into the stainless-steel wall of the steam cabinet.

“Rowena Sable lied. The money was mine. The night was mine. – S.H.”

That was the last evidence I left behind.

At that moment, only darkness and silence bore witness.

And on the other side, Cassian wanted to make up for the six months of suffering Rowena had supposedly endured alone. He said he would give her a grand proposal.

Even though he couldn’t truly marry her because he and I were not divorced, he would still give her the honor of a wife.

While my child and I were slowly losing our last breath, he bought the top ten trending spots on social media and every major city billboard in America, scrolling love vows to Rowena over and over.

The moment I stopped breathing, he scattered an entire city’s worth of rose petals from helicopters during livestreams watched by tens of thousands of influencers.

He proposed to Rowena.

And now I watched them spend their sweet first wedding night in the bed that had once been mine.

Thank God I could see this happiness that was never mine.

When I destroy it, I won’t feel sorry.
