His Tardiness, Her New Marriage Chapter 12

This wasn’t the low-key heir to the Ashford fortune he remembered.

This was a man with a powerful, focused presence.

“Audrey and I are in the middle of our wedding ceremony,”

“Mr. Harrington, if you are here as a guest, you are welcome. But if you’re here to offer congratulations, the ceremony is not yet over, feel free to stay for it.”

He paused, his gaze sweeping over the awkward-looking groomsmen behind Blake.

“That goes for all of you.”

His eyes then returned to Blake’s now-drained face.

“If it’s about anything else, now is not the appropriate time.”

With that one light statement, Blake was firmly branded as an “intruder.”

Blake’s breathing grew heavy, sharp.

The rage he had been suppressing surged back to the surface.

He stared at Nathaniel. “Audrey is my fiancée!”

“Audrey, you tell him! You tell him whose bride you are!”

His eyes locked onto me, desperate.

He was betting on my last-minute compassion, betting that our six years together could still outweigh this absurd reality.

The music had stopped at some point.

All eyes were on me.

I slowly lifted my head.

Through the soft blur of my veil, I looked at the man I had loved for six years, waited for six years, who now looked so utterly pathetic.

I didn’t look at Blake. I simply said, word by word:

“Blake, look closely.”

I turned slightly to the side. “This dress, you didn’t pick it.”

I gently raised my left hand. On my ring finger, the diamond ring that Nathaniel had just placed there, glittered.

“This ring, you didn’t give it to me.”

My gaze then drifted past his ashen face. “Today, standing here, marrying Nathaniel, is me, Audrey.”

I paused, took a deep breath, and delivered the final blow, the one that severed all ties to the past.

“Your wedding, and your bride, have nothing to do with me.”
