Revenge Is the Best Wedding Gift Chapter 08

Indeed, seeing the ambulance wasn’t arriving, Rafe panicked completely. He scooped me up and rushed to his car, planning to speed to the hospital emergency room himself.

Facing Victoria’s fake attempt to stop him, claiming it was dangerous to move an injured person, Rafe looked at her like garbage and kicked her away.

“Get lost! If anything happens to Lavinia, I’ll make your life hell!”

On the way racing to Seattle Medical Center, Rafe’s mind, like mine walking home in the rain, uncontrollably flashed back through all our memories together.

The first time he met me was in sophomore year of college.

He had fainted on the basketball court from low blood sugar, and I happened to be passing by—I took a mint from my bag and put it in his mouth.

At the time, he had no idea I was the girl his roommate Nicholas had been pursuing for half a year. Instead, he fell for me at first sight and immediately began an intense pursuit.

By the time he figured out the situation, I had already accepted Nicholas’s confession.

The night he learned I was marrying Nicholas, Rafe locked himself in his apartment and cried all night.

The next day, he followed the wedding procession from a distance in his car.

When he saw me in a white wedding dress being carried out of the car by Nicholas, he didn’t even have the courage to get a closer look—he could only drive away with red eyes.

That night, dead drunk, Rafe had a beautiful dream.

In the dream, it was he himself standing before the priest to marry me.

Waking up from his hangover, Rafe prayed maliciously like a dark thief, hoping that bastard Nicholas wouldn’t know how to treasure me, so he could have a chance to take advantage.

God seemed to actually hear his prayers—his malicious wish came true.

He finally pulled his white moonlight out of the mire and brought me back into his world.
