Blood And Promises Novel by Sabrina Hart Chapter 08

As soon as Richard left, the fragile and pitiful look on Rebecca’s face vanished instantly.

She waved for the guard to wait outside, then walked over to stand in front of the bound Samantha.

“Samantha, did you see that? In Richie’s heart, you are not even worth one of my fingers. He believes everything I say. And you? No matter what you say, he just thinks you’re making excuses.”

Samantha stared at her coldly, refusing to speak.

“What? Not convinced?” Rebecca laughed. “Let me tell you, this is just the beginning. Aren’t you arrogant? Aren’t you a wild rose? Today, I will make you a stray dog with nothing left!”

She clapped her hands, and a figure Samantha knew all too well—and hated deeply—walked in from outside. It was her stepmother, Meredith!

Meredith held a thin rattan cane in her hand, a look of satisfaction on her face.

“Sammy, you’ve hit me so many times. It’s time for your aunt to return the favor.” Meredith waved the cane. “Ms. Macias told me to take good care of you. Don’t worry, I’ll be very thorough.”

“What do you want to do?” Samantha looked coldly at the two women.

“What do we want to do?” Rebecca stood up, looking down at her. “Of course, we want to make sure you remember today’s lesson. Mrs. Serrano, go ahead. Don’t hit her face, anywhere else is fine.”

“Don’t worry, I won’t hit her face, but everywhere else, I’ll beat her as hard as I can!” Meredith had hated Samantha to the core for a long time. Hearing this, she immediately raised the cane and struck Samantha hard!

“Crack! Crack! Crack!”

The tough, thin cane lashed against the flimsy clothes, instantly leaving swollen, bloody welts.

Samantha clenched her teeth, refusing to make a sound. She only stared at Rebecca and Meredith with those cold, lifeless eyes.

“Still so tough!” Meredith became even more enthusiastic with her beating.

After countless strikes, there was hardly an uninjured spot left on Samantha’s body. Her clothes were torn, revealing the gruesome wounds beneath.

Only then did Rebecca call for a stop.

She walked over, holding a small paper packet in her hand. When she opened it, there were white granules inside—salt.

“I’ve heard that sprinkling salt on wounds feels especially good.” Rebecca smiled as she carefully sprinkled the salt, bit by bit, onto Samantha’s fresh, torn wounds!

“Ah—!”

The intense pain, as if thousands of needles were stabbing her at once, finally made Samantha let out a suppressed cry of agony. Her body convulsed uncontrollably, and cold sweat instantly drenched her entire body.

Pain! It was excruciating! Even worse than being burned by acid!

Rebecca and Meredith watched her suffering and burst into satisfied, triumphant laughter.

“Samantha, remember how this feels today.” Rebecca leaned down, whispering in her ear with a gentle yet venomous voice, “From now on, just be a good blood bag and stop trying to seduce Richie. Otherwise, next time it won’t be as simple as sprinkling salt.”

“Oh, and don’t even think about telling Richie.” Rebecca straightened up, dusted off her hands as if brushing away invisible dirt, her smile gentle but her eyes as cold as a viper. “Between him and me, he will always believe only me.”

After saying this, she signaled Meredith to untie Samantha’s hands and feet. Then, as if throwing out garbage, the two of them dumped the nearly unconscious Samantha on the wasteland outside the crematorium and walked away without looking back.

Samantha lay on the cold ground, her whole body wracked with pain, her consciousness fading.

She did not know how long she lay there, until the chill of the night dew on her body brought her back to her senses a little.

She could not die here.

Gritting her teeth, she used all her strength to slowly push her agonized body up, swaying as she struggled to stand.

Every movement felt like her wounds were being torn open again, the salt grains grinding into her flesh, bringing searing pain.

She could not tell which way to go, but relying on instinct, she moved step by step, with great difficulty, toward the place where there was light.

Blood dripped from her pant legs onto the ground, leaving a long, dark red trail behind her.

Using the last of her strength, she made her way to the entrance of the courthouse.
