Divorced & Dying The Mafia Boss Regrets Everything Chapter 13

Dominic had been missing for days, and Sienna grew more and more anxious. In her panic, she secretly

contacted someone at the hospital, her first question demanding to know when Grace would die.

There was a pause on the other end, then a hesitant reply. “Sienna, she never came back for a follow–up

after she left. Dr. Li doesn’t know her condition either.”

He added soothingly, “But the way she was when she was discharged, she was already at the end. She probably won’t last more than a few days. You can rest easy, Sienna.”

Sienna still couldn’t calm down, terrified that Dominic might actually find something out. “Fine. Tell Li Yu to hide those medical records. Don’t let anyone get hold of them.”

Beep. The recording finished.

Finnegan put his phone away and tossed the thick stack of critical condition notices from Grace’s two emergency treatments in front of Dominic. “Take a good look. See how you’ve been played.”

“Impossible.”

Dominic’s eyes were hollow. He could read every word on the page, but he couldn’t put them together into a

coherent thought.

He hadn’t taken care of himself for days. His eyes were bloodshot, and the skin around his mouth was pale.

“Impossible, impossible…”

After she had been forced to swallow the white paint, with her lungs severely burned to the point of near collapse, Sienna had told him it was just a minor choking episode, and he had believed her.

When he went to see her, her voice was hoarse, and he hadn’t suspected a thing.

While he stood by, trapped in the blazing fire and thick smoke–Sienna holding him back from going in- Grace had been trapped for so long that during her second emergency treatment, she was given no fewer than eleven critical condition notices.

And Sienna had told him it was just a regular coma, not life threatening.

He had believed every word.

No wonder Liam had lost it and attacked him in public…

Dominic asked himself, Am I even human?

He raised his eyes. The panic and confusion in them were so intense that even Finnegan had to look away. Finnegan felt a sad pity. “Think about it carefully. What were you doing when she announced she was stepping down? What were you doing while she was suffering through all that pain alone? And what was

that bitch doing?”

“Think about it. Really think.”

In that moment, everything Dominic had believed shattered. The fragmented memories he could piece together would not form a picture of a healthy Grace.

He suddenly realized that in their last few meetings, he had somehow managed to overlook her gaunt face

and thin wrists.

Only now did he understand that he had had chances to turn her around and get her proper treatment- chances he had missed, one after another.

“How dare you treat me like this! Do you think I won’t make you all pay for it!? I’m telling you, Dominic won’t let you off! Let me go!!”

Before she could even react, Finnegan’s men had Sienna pinned down. The moment they pulled the rag from her mouth, she started screaming like a madwoman, her shrill voice filling the room. Finnegan leaned on his cane and took a step back to save his eardrums.

Dominic stood up in a daze and turned to face the disheveled, hysterical woman, his gaze cold and

unfamiliar.

He walked slowly toward her, ignoring her pleading eyes, and held out the report in front of her. His voice was colder than Sienna had ever heard. “Explain.”

Once Sienna was released, she froze, staring at the black and white text just inches from her eyes. She snatched the paper, frantically tore it to shreds, and grabbed Dominic’s hand, pulling it to her chest.

“Dom, Dom, you can’t believe this. You can’t. I did it all for you. If you’re done with her, you can be with me, right… Dom…”

Dominic covered his eyes with his hand, looked up, and laughed bitterly, his voice hoarse. “I never knew you were this kind of person.”

He pulled his hand free and slapped her hard across the face.

“Ah–1”

Sienna was knocked to the ground and stared up at him in disbelief. “You, you…”

Dominic looked down at her, his posture that of the superior one, but he was sinking deeper into pain. His voice trembled.

“Sienna, give me back my Grace.”
