Divorced & Dying The Mafia Boss Regrets Everything Chapter 09

Divorced & Dying The Mafia Boss Regrets Everything Chapter 09

Dominic once again spared no expense, assembling a teatn of the world’s top medical experts to create the best possible prenatal environment for Sienna

He was nowhere to be seen at the company. He had even moved his work to a high–end postpartum care

center, watching Sienna every minute to prevent Grace from striking again.

Yes, he assumed Grace had been deliberately targeting Sienna.

Sienna had a gentle nature. Even pushed to the brink, she still pleaded on Grace’s behalf.

Dominic was touched by her thoughtfulness.

She mentioned once that she wanted the limited quantity shrimp dumplings from a dim sum place in the West End. Dominic drove there late at night, waited until it opened the next morning, and flew back by helicopter just so she could eat them warm.

She glanced at a limited edition luxury bag, and Dominic gave up five percent of his profit to buy the whole collection and personally delivered it to her bedside.

She loved looking at the stars, and Dominic actually bought a star, put her name on it, and had her room equipped with a full set of top–of–the–line astronomical equipment.

He poured all his guilt into lavish gifts, and he never did it quietly.

Now the whole city knew that Dominic had finally won the woman of his dreams and was spoiling her rotten -just like the reunited protagonists of a romance novel.

Everyone also laughed at Grace, the “evil supporting character” who had played the fool for eight years.

Finnegan had turned a blind eye for a long time. Then he found a lipstick mark on the signature line of a document, and he finally exploded.

He told Henry to return the contract and asked Dominic to come back to the office.

Ever since Grace left, Dominic had been missing. Finnegan had been running ragged, his hair turning grayer

by the day.

He had the investigation results sent to Chairman Benjamin as well, and then he waited for the cold consequences. He wiped his face in despair.

Finnegan pitied Grace, who had been abandoned by everyone around her during this time. Even an outsider like him couldn’t stand it.

Henry watched as Dominic carefully fed Sienna porridge with his own hands. He relayed Finnegan’s message word for word and stood by respectfully, waiting for orders.

Dominic left him hanging for a while before finally waving him off, but just as Henry was about to close the door, he called him back.

“Tell Grace to come see me herself.”

Henry was stunned. “No, after Boss Grace left, we…”

Dominic cut him off flatly. “Then don’t expect me to come back. Don’t think I don’t know she’s the one who

told you to…”

“No,” Henry interrupted, for the first time being so bold. “Boss Grace never came back at all.”

The bowl slammed down on the table. Henry wisely shut his mouth. Dominic didn’t believe a word of it. He gave a cold laugh and told him to get lost.

That night, Dominic dreamed that a soaking wet Grace stood at a distance, watching him, her body

shrouded in darkness.

He stood there waiting for her to come closer. He waited a long time, but she didn’t move.

Finally, he took two steps forward. Only then did he see that what soaked Grace wasn’t water-

It was blood gushing from her chest.

Clatter. Something fell to the ground in pieces. Dominic looked down with trembling lips: three severed

fingers.

Huff-

Dominic woke with a start, his heart pounding so hard he thought it would burst. His mind was full of those

three fingers.

After they had moved him to safety, Grace had had the fingers reattached. But the tendons were severed, and she could never hold a gun again.

She had always been at odds with those people.

Those three fingers were her promise that she would never touch them again.

All to trade for the life of her sworn enemy.

When Dominic made his comeback, his first act was to wipe out that group’s stronghold, cementing his status in the underworld.

In that moment, he realized that although Grace wasn’t his type at all, she might be the best partner for him. Aside from their occasional clashes, he was happy to keep playing the role of the two of them joining

forces.

And Sienna was the perfect image of the woman he had dreamed of loving in his youth.

But when Sienna mentioned marriage, he had refused without thinking.

Dominic felt a twinge of emotion. By the time he came back to his senses, he realized he hadn’t seen Grace in a very long time.
