Divorced & Dying The Mafia Boss Regrets Everything Chapter 08

Everyone at Clear Harbor knew that Dominic had a new person beside him someone who tried to act like a big shot by sitting in Boss Grace’s chair, but whose skills were nowhere near Grace’s.

Put in charge of an important banquet, she served a mess of mismatched dishes. The chicken nuggets with maple syrup made the executives exchange bewildered looks.

And she didn’t even see anything wrong. Blushing, she hid behind Dominic and said, “The baby wants to eat.” Again and again, he had to clean up after her.

After the event ended, Dominic let Sienna’s hands wander over him and kissed her on the corner of her still

aching lips, then wearily pushed her away.

“You’re pregnant. Don’t be silly.”

Sienna wouldn’t let go, wrapping her arms around Dominic’s neck. “Dom, about the Hamptons…”

Dominic raised his eyelids and gave her a casual look. “We’ll talk later.”

The next day, the story had spread through the whole company. The old syndicate members disliked Sienna even more. Finnegan’s face turned cold, and he had no patience for Dominic.

He treated Dominic like a son, and he was genuinely furious with him. He felt truly sorry for Grace.

“When did you go so blind? She’s not fit to tie Grace’s shoes. Look at yourself and see what kind of trash you’ve gotten tangled up with!”

Dominic flipped through the contract casually. “Being naive isn’t necessarily a bad thing.”

He chuckled. “Who would have thought that one day Grace would actually earn your approval?”

Come to think of it, he hadn’t seen her in a while.

Maybe now she’d stop playing mind games and going against him

Finnegan was so angry his beard seemed ready to fly off. Then he caught the hint of confusion in Dominic’s

subsided. “You, you… one day you’ll regret this.” eyes and his anger

He slammed the door and left without looking back.

Regret it?

Not a chance.

Dominic leaned back in his office chair and thought about the seven years Grace had bullied him. Not once had he ever truly given in.

Now that Sienna was back with him, he should be happy. Why would he regret anything?

Duminic’s eyes cleared. He took the contract Henry handed him and suppressed the strange ache that had suddenly risen in his heart.

Sienna took the duplicate key she had made and went back to the Hamptons house.

This was the most expensive piece of land in New York. That was why she had pushed Dominic so hard to get it.

She unlocked the door and saw the person sleeping in the rocking chair on the balcony. She looked terrified, like she’d seen a ghost.

Grace hadn’t been fully asleep. She heard the noise, opened her eyes, and met the uninvited guest’s gaze.

Though it was midsummer, she was wrapped in a thick blanket. Sienna didn’t bother to hide the sarcasm and malice in her eyes. “I never expected Ms. Santoro to sink to such shameless tactics.”

She tossed the property transfer deed onto the table and looked down at Grace.

Grace looked away calmly, leafed through the papers with her thin fingers, and smiled wryly. “Dominic never told you that we’re already divorced. He has no right to deal with this property. Of course, you can ask him for something else.”

A flash of ecstasy crossed Sienna’s eyes. At the word “no right,” her face twisted for a moment, and she gritted her teeth.

“Whatever I want–whether it’s a man or anything else there’s nothing I can’t get.”

Grace raised an eyebrow. The look, combined with her pale face, was utterly mocking. Sienna’s chest heaved with anger. “You…”

The sound of a car engine dying outside made Sienna glance toward the window. She caught sight of a familiar license plate. Panic flickered, and then an idea came to her.

Grace watched in confusion as she grabbed a glass from the nearby table, smashed it, and cut her own wrist with a shard. She messed up her hair and slapped herself several times.

Grace frowned. “Go act crazy somewhere else…”

Before she could finish, Sienna ran away as if she had been terribly wronged. Out of the corner of her eye, Grace saw a familiar figure, and in that instant, she understood everything.

The familiar palm came flying at her. Grace raised her hand and caught it, meeting Dominic’s dark, brooding eyes.

The next moment, a hard slap landed on her right cheek. She was shoved toward the windowsill, and a sharp

pain shot through her lower back. If she hadn’t grabbed the railing, she would have fallen.

Once again, Dominic had tipped the scales heavily in someone else’s favor.

But now, Grace’s heart was completely calm.

It had long since died.

They stared at each other in silence for a long moment. Then Dominic scooped Sienna into his arms and strode away, throwing a vicious curse over his shoulder.

“Grace Santoro, you deserve to burn in hell.”

Bang.

When the room fell quiet again, Carmela came out from the side, looking worried. Grace turned to her and handed her a card, her voice barely audible. “Ten million.”

“Carmela, thank you for all these years. You can leave tomorrow. A car will take you.”

Carmela hesitated, tears welling up.

Grace pretended not to see and just stared silently at the wreckage.

This goodbye might be for good.
