Divorced & Dying The Mafia Boss Regrets Everything Chapter 04

When she opened her eyes again, Grace was lying on the sofa in the conference room.

Only Henry was there.

He had his hand on her forehead and was staring anxiously at the thermometer, which was nearly at 104 degrees.

Seeing her wake up, he quickly handed her a glass of warm water.

Grace drank, relieved her dry throat, studied his face, and asked in a voice hoarse from fever, “…Does it still

hurt?”

Henry realized what she meant and quickly shook his head. “I’m fine.”

He hesitated, then told her what had happened: when he returned to the conference room, he found Grace lying motionless on the floor, while Dominic stood nearby watching coldly. As soon as Henry entered, Dominic turned and walked away without looking back.

Grace listened without any reaction. She stood up silently, smoothed her clothes, walked out the door, and refused to let Henry follow her.

She hailed a random cab and gave the driver the Hamptons address.

The abnormal fever had left her confused. The ride passed in a blur, and then she was there. Grace threw a handful of bills onto the seat, got out, and headed straight for the house.

Stumbling along by memory, she reached the front door and saw that someone was painting over her aunt’s graffiti with white paint.

Grace grabbed the brush out of the man’s hand and kicked over the bucket.

“Get lost!”

Her dark expression made people instinctively step back.

She strode inside. Carmela was standing in a corner, watching them do as they pleased; she breathed a sigh of relief when she saw Grace.

Then Grace saw that her aunt’s ashes had been shoved into a corner like garbage.

Nearby, Sienna was directing servants as they moved things. She rolled her eyes and pretended Grace wasi

there.

Grace walked straight up to her. Under Sienna’s contemptuous gaze, she dragged the brush across her face.

White smeared across her features. Ridiculous.

Sienna froze. She rubbed her stinging face in disbelief and let out a shriek.

“You–how dare you-

Before she could finish, Carmela grabbed her flailing hand, and Grace shoved the brush into her mouth.

No one dared to provoke this notorious madwoman. They kept their distance.

One man took a step forward, but a single look from Grace sent him retreating.

“You think you’re somebody?”

Grace looked down at her with contempt, like she was looking at a dog.

She tossed the brush aside, lit a strong cigarette, and took a drag, trying to suppress the violent pain in her

head.

“Do whatever you want in front of Dominic. But touch my things, and I have plenty of ways to make your life a living hell.”

Dominic’s taste had always been terrible, taking in any trash he could carry.

At that, Grace laughed at herself. That meant she was worse than trash, didn’t it?

Sienna had never been humiliated like this. She struggled wildly.

“You–how dare you do this to me? Dom won’t let you get away with this!!”

Grace looked

up,

blew smoke in her face, and made Sienna gag.

Her eyes were bloodshot. She crushed the cigarette butt in her palm; the small sting helped her forget the headache for a moment.

“Ha. You picked a fine time to come back. Now that you know he’s got power and status, you think you can get everything just by riding on him? Dream on, princess.”

“Don’t you ever think about who got him where he is today?”

“If you really want to get something out of him, first convince him to sign those divorce papers and stop fucking stalling.”

She gave a small nod. Carmela forced the struggling woman to her knees and started pounding her head against the floor in front of Stephanie’s ashes.

None of Grace’s people were pushovers.

Grace sat back with her legs crossed on the desk where her aunt used to paint. She saw someone sneak a look at his phone to tip someone off, and she didn’t care.

Within five minutes-

Bang

The door was kicked open violently.

“Are you out of your mind, Grace!?”

Grace didn’t even have to turn around to know it was Dominic.

The next moment, her hair was yanked back, and a hard slap cracked across her face. Her head snapped to the side. Blood gushed from her nose and ran over her lips.

Grace turned her head back calmly and watched the disheveled man in the expensive suit quickly scoop up Sienna, who had been beaten bloody. She wiped her nose and smiled.

“Dominic, I did this one. I’ll admit it.”

“If it happens again, you know I’ll go all out, and I won’t let either of you off easy.

Dominic was breathing hard, his rage barely contained. He had never laid a hand on her before, but now he raised his foot and kicked her hard in the stomach.

Grace was knocked to her knees. Cold sweat poured down her face as she listened to that low, venomous

voice.

“Someone bring that bucket of paint.”

“Pour it down her throat. Don’t stop until I say so.”

Carmela crawled over on her knees, weeping, begging Dominic to spare Grace. He just kicked her aside and stared down at Grace, his eyes full of hatred.

Grace looked up at him without moving. Guards pinned her arms and pried her mouth open.

A whole can of pungent white paint was lifted and poured down her throat. The thick, burning liquid covered her mouth and nose.

Burning. Suffocating.

She choked violently, her whole body convulsing. Her eyelids drooped, and she saw the satisfied smile on Sienna’s lips.

Her breathing grew faint.

At that moment, Grace truly thought she was going to die there.
