The Bullet Comments Called Me Stupid And Doomed Chapter 06

I wiped my face with the back of my hand, then held out my palm.
“Give me the agreement.”

He reached into his briefcase without a word and handed me a stack of documents — the settlement agreement and the divorce papers, already drawn up. I read every line. It was clean — no hidden clauses, no missing terms.

All the debt stayed with him. The house, the car, and whatever savings we had left went to me. Once the debt was cleared, he’d send me a third of his income every month. And if he started a new company, a third of the equity would be mine.

Honestly, my mom had done a lot for him — but he didn’t owe me this much. Not even close. And I wasn’t greedy enough to actually take one third of a company he hadn’t even built yet.

Besides, the female lead would never let that happen.

But I kept that to myself.

I signed without hesitating and handed his copy back. Julian stared at the signed page for a few seconds. “I’ll pack my things and go.”

“Do whatever you want!” The words came out sharper than I intended. Or maybe they came out exactly as sharp as I intended.

Julian opened his mouth like he wanted to say something, then closed it and walked to the bedroom.

I pulled my knees up on the couch and turned on the TV, trying to drown out the sounds coming from the other room. It didn’t work. Every drawer he opened, every zipper he pulled — the pressure in my chest kept getting worse.

I buried my face in my knees and let myself cry, as quietly as I could. He didn’t own much. It only took him a matter of minutes.

When I heard his footsteps in the hallway, I threw myself flat on the couch, arm over my eyes, pretending to sleep. His steps slowed as he passed the couch. “Toss whatever I left behind. I’ll meet you at the lawyer’s office tomorrow. First thing.”

“Fine!” My voice cracked on the second syllable.

The suitcase wheels clicked over the floor. The door opened. The door closed.

And then I fell apart.

[The female lead is smart — when she couldn’t get rid of the ex-wife directly, she went straight for the male lead. And of course he fell for it and asked for the divorce himself]

Of course. The female lead was pulling the strings. Again. But the fight had gone out of me. I didn’t chase him.

[Am I the only one who thinks the female lead is kind of messed up? In their past life, the side character and the male lead literally fell in love and spent their whole lives together, and the FL just bulldozes her way in after being reborn?]

[How is that immoral? The ex-wife was never willing to tough it out — she only stayed because she couldn’t survive on her own. The second that grifter showed up, she ran straight to him.]

[The ex-wife being a gold digger is on her. The FL knowingly being a homewrecker is on her. They both suck — just in different ways.]

[The author literally said this is a villain-era second-life novel. The FL does whatever it takes. If you can’t handle that, stop reading.]
