I Funded His Company And He Funded His Affair With My Money Chapter 03

When I woke up, Hayden had not shown up, but my lawyer was sitting by my bed, updating me on the situation.

“Mr. Robinson left for a meeting with his secretary and said he wouldn’t be back until tomorrow.” He studied my face carefully and spoke cautiously, “I pulled the attendance records from the past two weeks and found they’ve been leaving for meetings often… but the places they’ve been going are…”

He handed me a report, and none of the listed business trip locations were where we had partner companies; they were all tourist resorts!

“I also asked some staff members, and they said they often see Nevaeh’s Instagram posts with photos of her going out… with Mr. Robinson… would you like to see them?”

He handed me his phone, which was filled with screenshots of her Instagram posts.

Every single one of them was a carefully curated photo dump that Nevaeh had posted.

Her captions read:

[Thank you, Mr. Robinson, for driving me home tonight! This was our special alone time.]

[I mentioned that working overtime was just too exhausting, and someone sent me a little overtime bonus… a Hermès bag I’d been eyeing forever!]

[I casually said I wanted to see the Eiffel Tower, and he flew me there overnight. If that’s not love, I don’t know what is.]

The lawyer went on, “We looked into Nevaeh’s college background and found out she was sponsored during college… by Mr. Robinson…”

“Nevaeh’s college roommate said she used to brag about having a sugar daddy, and that person was Mr. Robinson…”

Hearing with my own ears that Hayden had betrayed me long ago felt like a knife twisting in my heart.

The lawyer handed me a file and said softly, “There’s one more thing… we found this, and I think you should see it.”

I opened the folder, and my legs went weak at a single glance; I nearly collapsed.

I gripped the folder tightly and said in a shaking voice, “Take me home first. I need to calm down.”

But when I got home, I found my mansion had been locked down.

The expensive family heirloom jewelry my parents had prepared for me as wedding gifts over twenty years was being carried out in boxes and stuffed into a safe.

I rushed over and grabbed the workers, “What are you doing! Put my things down!”

They coldly shook my hand away, stuffed item after item into the safe, and then said to me, “From now on, your jewelry, bags, and gowns are under Ms. Mae’s management.”

“If you need to use anything, please submit a 5,000-word application through the office workflow system. You may only use them once Ms. Mae approves and signs off.”

I trembled with rage, took out my phone, and called Hayden.

Nevaeh answered again, giggling and dismissive, “It’s only been a day and you already have the energy to come crying to Mr. Robinson again? I knew you were just faking being sick to scam money out of him. And what’s this about you’re about to give birth? Your due date isn’t until next week.”

“Oh, by the way, Mrs. Robinson, I forgot to tell you. Since your due date is next Wednesday, I’ll approve the reimbursement for your medical expenses only if you give birth on that exact day. If you have the baby any other day, you’ll have to pay for it yourself.”

I held back my overwhelming anger, “Nevaeh! Who gave you permission to touch my jewelry? Tell your people to return my things right now, or I’ll call the police and charge you with theft!”

Nevaeh scoffed indifferently, “Your things? Have you forgotten your place? You’re just an ordinary clerk who can only afford tens of millions in jewelry and millions in gowns because you married Mr. Robinson!”

“Since you’re so money-obsessed that you even spend his money on coffee, I have good reason to suspect you’ll sell the jewelry, accessories, and luxury items Mr. Robinson gave you for cash!”

“As Mr. Robinson’s secretary, I have a duty to protect his assets! So from now on, unless I say otherwise, you can forget about touching any of these things!”

“Nevaeh! Don’t push it too far!” I snarled through gritted teeth.

“Too far?” she chuckled lightly, “By the way, I heard your mother is staying at the hospital invested by Mr. Robinson, isn’t she? Pathetic poor woman with a leech of a sick mother!”

“Your mother has been sick for so many years. Do you have any idea how much of Mr. Robinson’s money she wastes every year? To stop Mr. Robinson’s money from being squandered any further, I’ve already had someone kick her out.”

I was stunned, struck dumb as if hit by lightning. I shook violently and roared, “Nevaeh! Are you crazy? My mother can’t leave the oxygen tank! What you’re doing is murder!”

I hung up and rushed to my car, heading straight to the hospital.

Only then did I learn that Nevaeh had taken my mother’s VIP suite for her own mother.

Fortunately, some of the hospital’s senior leaders were people I had promoted back in the day.

They acted quickly and moved my mother to a new suite in time, so her life was never in danger.

Staring at my mother’s pale face, I could no longer hold back.

I gave an order directly to my lawyer beside me, “Throw Nevaeh’s mother out onto the street!”

“Recover every penny I spent paying off her loans and treating her mother over the years!”

“Also! I want to sue Nevaeh for attempted murder!”
