He Signed Divorce Papers Then Found My Wedding Photo Chapter 04

After the paternity test was done, Adrian forced me back to the old house.

It was still the same house we had shared during our marriage.

The home where we had once been in love had become the place where he tied me tightly to a chair.

“The expedited results will take some time. Calm down first. We need to talk.”

I glared at him until my eyes burned.

“What is there to talk about? You’ve already broken the law!”

He was about to speak when my phone suddenly rang in his pocket.

It was Logan calling.

Adrian took it out, and when he saw the contact name “Husband,” his expression turned hard.

He raised a hand and clamped it hard over my mouth before answering the call.

Logan’s smiling voice came through the phone.

“Honey, I’ve got good news. I can come home tomorrow.”

“How are you and Milo? Did you miss me?”

“Mmph, mmph!”

I fought desperately to make noise.

Adrian’s gaze went cold. He hung up at once and powered off my phone.

“You even hired an actor. You really went all out for this lie.”

He released me, his voice low.

I gulped in air, but at the same time, a hint of relief settled in my chest.

I would never hang up on Logan and turn off my phone for no reason.

That alone would make him suspicious.

Besides, the GPS watch on my wrist allowed him to know where I was at any time.

“I’ll be honest with you. I’ve been waiting for you to come back this entire year.”

Then Adrian said something I didn’t expect.

“I know you’re stubborn, and I’ve been willing to indulge you, but that doesn’t mean my patience is endless.”

He rarely spoke so openly about what he felt.

After saying it, he seemed embarrassed by his own honesty, and his tone stiffened.

“You fought with me for a whole year over one phone call. Aren’t you tired?”

“If Sienna and I really had something going on, we would’ve been together the moment you left.”

“I don’t want to hear this!”

Every nerve in me went on edge.

“Give Milo back to me right now. He is not your child!”

Adrian’s expression hardened.

He was about to say something when another phone rang.

This time, it was his.

The caller was Sienna Prescott.

He frowned and answered. Sienna’s voice came through.

“Mr. Lancaster, it’s confirmed. That child is yours.”

“Impossible!”

My eyes widened in shock, and I screamed.

“Milo can’t possibly be Adrian’s child. You tampered with the results!”

“Mr. Lancaster, how should we handle this?”

Sienna ignored me completely.

Adrian glanced at me, looking completely in control, and spoke flatly.

“I don’t care what method you use. Send him to foster care, find someone to adopt him, whatever it takes. Just get the child away for now.”

A chill went through me.

The last thread holding my sanity together snapped.

“Give Milo back to me!”

After screaming those words, I ignored the ropes still binding me and struggled to stand.

But I lost my balance and crashed hard to the floor.

With a loud bang, Adrian’s expression shifted. He hung up and reached down, trying to help me up.

My knees hurt as if someone had smashed them with a hammer.

Cold sweat broke out all over me, and pain contorted my face.

“Adrian Lancaster, I’ll kill you!”

The moment the words left my mouth, I lunged forward and rammed my head into him with all my strength.

He frowned, raised his hand, and struck the back of my neck.

The next second, everything went black.

I passed out.
