Finn’s voice pulled Caleb back to reality.

Finn only chuckled dryly, looking the pair up and down.

“Imagine my surprise when I came home to this show.”

Nadia panicked completely. She grabbed Finn’s arm, tears streaming down her face.

“Alpha Finn, it’s not what you think. Please let me explain.”

But her mouth opened and closed, and no words came out.

Finn laughed. “Nothing to say?”

“I disappeared only two weeks after we married. You had your period that same month-I never touched you.”

“Do you really expect me to believe Marcus Cater is mine?”

Nadia sobbed uncontrollably. “Did Aurora put these ideas in your head? Believe me. I was so heartbroken after you left.

Caleb looks just like you, I just-

“It was a mistake, Alpha Finn, really.”

Finn curled his lip, glancing at her stomach. “A mistake? And the one in your belly now-also a mistake?”

Nadia went completely still.

Finn went on, “Aurora said nothing.”

“My return was all over the internet. I’m not stupid. I did my own research.”

Nadia fell silent.

Finn turned to the silent Caleb, his eyes dark. “We’re blood brothers. Did you really think I couldn’t tell you were in love

with Nadia?”

Caleb, lost in his own thoughts, snapped his head up.

Finn’s expression was heavy. “I gave Nadia a choice. She chose me, so I didn’t back down.”

“If I’d died or stayed missing. I wouldn’t blame you for being together.”

“Even now, after everything. I’d still let you have her.”

“But Caleb-what did Aurora ever do to deserve this?”

“She got dragged into our mess and suffered so much Don’t you feel even a little guilty””

“I warned you years ago-if you don’t love her, don’t pull her into this.”

Caleb’s hands clenched into fists

Did he not love her?

He’d proposed to Aurora on impulse, stung by Nadia marrying his brother.

He’d convinced himself he didn’t love Aurora, that his heart only belonged to Nadia.

So why did his chest hurt so badly now?

Amid the heavy silence, Finn spoke calmly. “I’ll end my mate bond with Nadia as soon as possible.”

“As for you and Aurora-”

He pulled out a mate bond termination document.

“She asked me to draw this up. She doesn’t want half your assets, only the thirty percent that’s rightfully hers. Her only condition is that Blackthorn Pack doesn’t cut ties with the Lewis family.”

“She’s a good woman. Caleb. She never asked for anything from our pack. Her only request is for her family.”

He held the paper out to Caleb.

“Sign it.”

Caleb suddenly tore the document to shreds.

His eyes red, he shook his head. “No. I’m not ending things with her.”

He turned sharply.

“I’m going to find her.”

Nadia called after him instinctively.

“Caleb! What about me?”

Caleb paused, but didn’t look back.

Nadia panicked completely as he walked away without a glance.

She clung to Finn. “Alpha Finn, don’t leave me.”

Finn pushed her hand away coldly, not even looking at her.

“We’re ending our mate bond tomorrow.”
