I Crashed His Car, Then He Crashed My Life Chapter 01

I was driving my bestie to LAX, Los Angeles International Airport.

The thought that she would be studying in London for the next 2 years, and that I would not be able to see her every day, hit me hard.

My eyes started to sting.

Sienna Sterling panicked and wiped my tears for me.

“Hey, don’t cry. I’ll come back to see you whenever I can.”

“I’m worried you won’t take care of yourself while I’m gone.”

The moment I heard that, I wanted to cry even more.

My vision blurred.

While backing up, I accidentally hit a pillar in the LAX parking garage.

I got out with teary eyes to check the damage.

The rear of the car had a large dent.

I had caused trouble again.

Sienna quickly wrapped an arm around my shoulders.

“It’s okay. Let’s just drive away first. I’ll have that little jerk Xavier Sterling handle it.”

I nodded.

Without Sienna, how was a hot mess like me supposed to survive?

Xavier Sterling’s name was far too familiar.

Besides being Westbridge University’s famous aloof campus heartthrob, he was also my bestie Sienna Sterling’s younger brother.

In Sienna’s words, other people’s younger brothers were loyal servants.

Xavier was a sharp-tongued rabid puppy.

Sometimes, he was also a little menace.

Sienna had already called him and told him what happened to the car.

A cold laugh came from the other end, full of undisguised mockery.

“Sienna Sterling, why were you driving my car?”

“Do you use your eyes for decoration?”

Sienna instantly bristled, ready to fire back.

I did not want her taking the blame, so I quickly spoke up.

“I’m sorry. It wasn’t Sienna’s fault. I was driving.”

The other end went silent for a moment.

“Miss Harper?”

“It’s me. I’ll take full responsibility.”

The air went instantly quiet.

Sienna shook the phone.

“What happened? Did it freeze?”

After a long pause, Xavier cleared his throat.

His low, sexy voice drifted through the speaker.

“Miss Harper, are you okay?”

“Where are you? Don’t be scared. I’m coming right now.”

“Also… I think I was sleep-texting just now. That wasn’t really me.”

Sienna said, “WTF?”

I said, “WHAT?”

Sienna sent him the address and told him to hurry.

Xavier was very polite.

“Sure, Sis.”

“I’ll be there soon.”

Sienna was so startled that she hung up immediately.

“No. No, no, no. That little menace is acting weird.”

“He hasn’t called me Sis since high school.”

Her eyes fell on me, and she rubbed her chin thoughtfully.

“We’re doomed. That wolf is circling my bestie.”

I blinked.

Sienna immediately started listing all the ways Xavier was terrible, manipulative, and basically a snake in sheep’s clothing.

If I really fell into his hands, she said, he would probably chew me down to the bone and still have me thanking him for wiping his mouth.

At the end, she sighed.

“But I don’t trust anyone else to take care of you either.”

Then she slapped her forehead.

“How about this? I’ll introduce you to my cousin.”

“He’s 5 years older than you and currently heads Shaw Holdings. He’s emotionally stable, gentle, gentlemanly, and rich. Just a little older.”

She had only gotten halfway through when someone knocked on the car window.

Under the dim lights, Xavier stood outside.

His messy hair half covered his sharp brows, his nose bridge was straight, his eye sockets deep, and the slight lift at the corners of his eyes gave him a natural arrogance.

That face was so good-looking it almost felt unreasonable.
