She Invited Me to Her Wedding, Didn’t Know I Was Already Married to the Groom Chapter 06

Charles tried to pull Savannah toward the back exit.

I blocked him, staring into his dark eyes. “Charles, you could have just asked me for a divorce.”

“I never needed you in that way. I would have been fine.”

“Why did you have to do this to me?”

The word divorce scared him. His eyes filled with something painful, guilty. “I never wanted to divorce you.”

I cut him off with a bitter smile. “Never wanted a divorce?”

“So what, you wanted a wife at home and a mistress on the

side?”

“You wanted me to keep loving you like an idiot while you

sneaked around with her.”

I pointed at Savannah. “Is that it? Were my son and I just convenient tools to you? Dead weight?”

When I mentioned my son, my voice cracked and my eyes

burned.

I hated him so much for being so heartless.

Charles saw my tears and reached for me. “Jenny, that’s not what I meant. Let me explain. Please?”

I pushed his arm away and stepped back.

That little gesture made Savannah furious.

“Charles!” She grabbed his arm, demanding an answer. “What do you think you’re doing? Why are you hugging her?”

“Do you still love her? Do you really want to hurt me like this,

right in front of everyone?”

Tears poured down her face. She looked so innocent, so pitiful.

Charles was trapped between two women, looking like he was being torn apart.

He tried to calm them both. “Savannah, go back first. I’ll call you later.”

He put a hand on her back, guiding her away, protecting her.

Savannah wouldn’t leave; she marched over to me, chin raised. “Fine. Since you know everything now, let’s settle this.”

She acted like I was the other woman.

There wasn’t a trace of shame in her.

That’s when I realized, she was never innocent.

Charles pulled her back. “Go home. Now.”

I clapped slowly, my smile sharp, though my eyes were wet. “What a touching love story.”

Charles froze and stammered, “I… I just didn’t want things to

get messier than they already are. This is my fault. I’ll spend the rest of my life making it up to you.”

Rest of my life.

The anger surged again. I thought I might burn up from the

inside.

I raised my hand and slapped him again, as hard as I could.

His head snapped to the side, and I used so much force I nearly

fell.

“Your wife and son are dead, remember? How dare you say

‘rest of my life‘ to me?”

Charles didn’t get angry; he tried to steady me. “Calm down.”

I shoved him away.

“You’re trash, Charles!” I screamed. All fifteen years of

devotion turned to hate and pain in that moment.

“You didn’t have to love me. But why tell her our son is dead?”

“He loves you! He lost his leg for you!”

“And you,” I spat, pointing at Savannah, “you let him run into

that fire for a cheap earring. You left our son crippled. You’re a

monster.”

Charles stared at me, then something clicked, and he turned slowly to Savannah.

“You told her that?”
