I met Benjamin in my sophomore year of college.

At a birthday party, he took one look at me and fell head over heels in love with me.

After that, he chased me relentlessly, but I kept my distance because he had a reputation as a playboy and I refused to have anything to do with him.

To win me over, Benjamin changed his ways completely. He cut off all contact with other women and ditched all his toxic friends.

He went from being a failing student to top of his class, from a rich slacker to a skilled investor in finance.

Everyone said he was completely whipped.

His persistence finally won me over, and on the night of our graduation ceremony, I said yes to dating him.

That day, he laughed like an idiot and ran laps around the track, shouting at the top of his lungs.

For three years, Benjamin spoiled me rotten. Everyone in the Hampton Circle knew I was his everything.

Anyone who dared to touch me would be dead meat.

But a week before our wedding, he got into a car accident. When he woke up, he had forgotten me, looking at me like I was a total stranger.

When I told him our story, he scoffed. “You say I fell for you at first sight? Come on. Have some self-respect. I don’t just fall for anyone.”

In that moment, I felt a sharp sting in my heart.

After that, Benjamin went back to being the same playboy he used to be.

He went out drinking with his old friends every day and slept with a different woman every night.

Countless times, I pulled him off some other woman and begged him not to treat me like this.

Impatiently, he ordered his men to tie me up and throw me out the door. Then he made me listen all night as he had sex with someone else.

I convinced myself to forgive him, telling myself he had amnesia and didn’t know what he was doing.

I thought that if I tried hard enough, one day he would remember me. But I never imagined there had never been any amnesia at all, it was all an act.

Thinking of this, I laughed bitterly, then climbed out of the bathtub and walked unsteadily toward the door.

Since Benjamin had been faking everything, there was nothing left for me to hold on to.

“Wait!” Benjamin instinctively called out when he saw that I didn’t even look at him.

I stopped and looked at him calmly. “Is there something else, Mr. Harrison?”

This unfamiliar form of address made Benjamin uneasy. He asked, “Where are you going?”

“None of your business,” I said coldly and left the room without looking back.

Benjamin watched my determined back and felt a strange sense of panic, wanting to come after me, but Jessica grabbed him.

“Ben, didn’t you say you were going to stay with me tonight?”

“I bought a new ‘Wild Kitten’ lingerie set. I’ll put it on for you later. Tonight, you can do whatever you want with me…”

Jessica whispered in his ear.

Benjamin swallowed hard, lust blazing in his eyes, and glanced at the door hesitantly.

“Ben, you’re pretending to have amnesia so you could have three months of freedom before the wedding. You’ve still got one week left.”

“Besides, you’re supposed to have amnesia. If you suddenly run after Emily, won’t she get suspicious?”

Benjamin bought it.

He told himself that Emily was just throwing a little tantrum.
