She Took My Husband on My Wedding Night, I Didn’t Find Out Until We Gave Birth Together Chapter 05

My body lay crumpled in a pool of blood while my soul drifted weightlessly above the scene. 

Hazel stared at my corpse in horror. Her legs gave out beneath her and she collapsed onto the floor, clutching her head as a 

piercing scream tore from her throat. 

“Clara!” 

Killian’s face went white. 

Ignoring the blood soaking his clothes, he lunged toward me 

and gathered me into his arms, desperately pressing his hands 

against the wound at my neck where blood kept pouring out 

between his fingers. 

“Doctor! Save her!” 

The medical staff, frozen in shock moments earlier, finally 

snapped back to reality. 

“Move! Stop the bleeding now! Prep blood for transfusion!” 

The entire hallway exploded into chaos. 

I was rushed into surgery while Killian and Hazel were forced 

to stay outside the operating room. 

Only minutes separated the two surgeries, yet Killian’s 

reaction to them could not have been more different. 

Hazel suddenly grabbed his sleeve, her eyes red and glossy 

with tears. 

“Clara’s not going to die… right?” she whispered shakily. 

“She’s always been terrified of pain. Terrified of dying. Why 

would she…” 

Killian didn’t answer. 

He just stood there in a daze. 

Was I really afraid of death? 

Not exactly. 

If I had truly been weak and delicate, how could I have stepped 

in front of those monsters for Hazel back then? 

After that incident, I spent countless nights unable to sleep. 

Killian knew. 

More than once, he’d caught me sitting alone in the dark, 

holding a knife against my wrist before lowering it again. Sometimes I’d stand at the bedroom window with one leg 

already over the ledge before climbing back inside. 

Every time, it scared him badly enough to break into a cold 

sweat. 

He wanted to stay with me. 

But Hazel had been unstable too. She woke up from 

nightmares constantly, drowning in guilt, unable to sleep unless he stayed beside her. 

Worried I might hurt myself, he installed surveillance cameras throughout the house. 

In the end, just like he expected, I dragged myself out of that hell little by little. 

And under his care, Hazel gradually recovered too. 

It was around that time that he learned the truth. 

Hazel had arranged the assault. 

She accidentally confessed in her sleep one night. 

Killian had been furious. Absolutely livid. He’d confronted her 

immediately. 

Hazel cried hysterically. 

“I just couldn’t accept it!” she screamed through tears. “Why did Clara get the best of everything so easily while I had to fight for scraps my entire life? Killian, you know I used to be the daughter of a wealthy family too! I used to have 

everything! I never should’ve ended up depending on other people just to survive!” 

Then she broke down completely and showed him the scars 

covering her body. 

That was when Killian finally learned what she’d suffered in 

the orphanage. 

He pitied her. 

But he also understood that bringing the incident up again 

would only reopen my wounds. 

So he stayed silent. 

Now, the image of my hopeless expression on that rooftop flashed through his mind again, carving a hole straight 

through his chest. 

His eyes remained locked on the operating room doors as doubt slowly consumed him. 

Had he made the wrong choice all along? 

After what felt like forever, the doors finally burst open again. 

“Family of Clara Winslow?” the doctor shouted urgently. 

Killian and Hazel rushed forward at once. 

“We’re here!” 

“Her blood type is extremely rare. The hospital doesn’t have enough supply in the blood bank, so we can only…” the doctor 

explained anxiously. 

Before he could finish, Killian shoved Hazel forward without 

hesitation. 

“She can donate! Their blood types match!” 

Hazel’s eyes widened in disbelief. 

“Killian, I just gave birth! How am I supposed to donate 

blood?”
