Corvin stayed by Elara’s side and never went home even once.

What he didn’t know was that the house where a light had always been left on for him was already empty.

He took Elara to see the northern lights.

He traveled with her to watch animal migrations.

But the longer time passed, the more restless he became.

He found himself taking out his phone more and more often.

Yet the chat box that had once lit up nonstop remained dead silent.

When the month finally ended, he almost felt relieved.

He rushed home without wasting a second.

The moment he pushed the door open, a cloud of dust rose from the living room and made him sneeze.

“Lyra? Where are you? I’m home!”

Only silence answered him.

He walked deeper into the house in a daze and slowly realized that all of Lyra’s things were gone.

The throw pillows she used to keep in the living room were missing.

So were the decorative paintings she had done by hand and hung on the walls.

Still unwilling to believe it, he strode into the bedroom and yanked open the closet doors: nothing.

The clothes that had once filled the wardrobe were gone.

The skincare products on the vanity were gone.

Everything had vanished without a trace.

A terrible thought hit him all at once.

Lyra’s recent indifference had not been obedience, but the silence of someone who had already stopped

caring.

She had truly meant to leave him.

No.

That couldn’t be right.

Lyra loved him more than life itself.

She had suffered with him, stood by him, thought of him in everything.

How could she possibly just walk away?

He tore through the house like a madman, desperate to find some sign that she had ever been there at all.

That was when Elara followed him inside.

The moment she saw how empty the pack house was, joy flooded her chest.

She hurried over and wrapped her arms around his waist from behind.

‘Corvin, even if Lyra left you, I’ll stay with you forever.”

The slap rang out so sharply it seemed to split the room in two.

He had thrown her off and hit her hard enough to send her stumbling sideways.

“Shut up,” he said through clenched teeth. “She didn’t leave. She’s just angry. She’s waiting for me to bring her

home.”

Elara stared at him, stunned. “You… you hit me?”

His voice dropped even colder. “Come with me. We’re breaking the mate bond.”

Her face twisted with panic and fury.

‘No! I won’t! You love me. Why do you have to break it?”

“Lyra is already gone. She doesn’t want you anymore. Why can’t the two of us just live our lives together?”

He barely seemed to hear a word she said.

He caught her by the wrist and dragged her toward the door.

He turned back slowly, his brows drawing together. “You didn’t take the pills?”

Seeing the hesitation in his face, Elara immediately burst into tears and threw herself against him again,

trying to push her advantage.

“Lyra already miscarried. You still didn’t know, did you? I’m pregnant now. We’re bonded now. Why can’t this

be enough?”

“Corvin, I’m the one who really loves you.”

But instead of softening, he looked like he had been struck by lightning.

His eyes widened in disbelief. ‘Lyra miscarried? When?”

His voice broke. “Why did nobody tell me?”

He grabbed his phone like a madman and called his beta, ordering him to investigate immediately.

A few gammas rushed in and moved to haul Elara away.

Now she was truly terrified.

“Corvin, what do you want from me? You were the one who sent Lyra to jail. You were the one who cheated!”

‘Stop pretending to be in love now! Let go of me! Don’t you dare hurt my pup!”

He acted as though he couldn’t hear her.

There was nothing left in his eyes now but shock and confusion.

His beta moved fast, and within an hour, the security footage was on his phone.

In the video, Elara deliberately poured a heavy dose of abortion medicine into Lyra’s breakfast.

It only took one bite.

Then Lyra doubled over in pain.

Seeing her face go pale on the screen made something inside him lurch violently.

What had he done?

Without asking a single question, without giving her even one chance to explain, he had sent her to jail for an

entire month.

Regret crashed into him so hard it left him unable to breathe.

But everything was too late.
