Silent No More, Never Forgive My Family Chapter 05

Silent No More, Never Forgive My Family Chapter 05

Her tearful confession instantly dissolved the family’s anger over the deception.

Damon’s eyes softened as he squeezed her hand.

“You silly she-wolf! Why would you think that? You’ve been part of the Silvermane Pack for twenty years. We would never abandon you!”

Mom wept even harder than Yara.

“It’s my fault for neglecting you. I don’t care that you lied. I will always be your mother!”

Dad took a deep breath and pointed at me.

“Raven, did you hear that?”

“Your jealousy and coldness drove her to this!”

Damon looked at me with icy hatred.

“Satisfied? You destroyed her legs and made her this miserable!”

“I’m filing a complaint with the United Packs Enforcers. Whatever black magic you used, you’re

going to spend the rest of your life in prison!”

I watched this self-indulgent farce, any shred of hope for this family now long dead.

I simply smiled at Damon’s threat.

“I look forward to the investigation.”

I looked at the pale, agonizing Yara and smirked.

“Since you love faking illness for sympathy, now you can enjoy being bedridden for real.

Congratulations.”

Furious, Damon called the Enforcers immediately.

“A member of the Silvermane Pack has been severely injured by black magic.”

“We are at the United Packs hospital, please send someone now!”

He blocked the hallway, staring at me as if I were already a corpse.

Dad and Mom didn’t stop him; in fact, they supported him.

“It’s time to let the United Packs dispose of this disaster. Since she returned, she has brought nothing but misfortune.”

Within an hour, six Enforcers arrived.

Damon pointed me out: “Enforcers! That’s her! She attacked her sister with silver in the dungeon

and used black magic to break her legs!”

The lead Enforcer frowned, looking at my slight frame.

“Black magic? She smells like a normal she-wolf, not a witch. Do you have proof?”

Damon insisted, demanding my arrest.

The Enforcers began their questioning.

I calmly raised my hands: “I will cooperate fully. But I request that you retrieve the silver blade from the dungeon and the remains from the kitchen trash for testing.”

I was taken to a holding cell.

Because the case involved forbidden magic and severe injury, the Enforcers split into two groups.

One stayed at the pack hospital to question the healers, while the other went to the Silvermane pack

house to collect evidence.

I stayed in a holding cell for a night.

No accusations, no bias.

It was the most peaceful sleep since returning to the pack.

The next afternoon, the door opened.

The lead Enforcer who questioned me yesterday returned, his tone much softer.

“Raven, you’re free to go.”

As I walked out, I saw Damon and Alpha Marcus being summoned.

Seeing me without shackles, Marcus exploded.

“Enforcers! Why are you letting this criminal go? My daughter Yara is crippled because of her!”

The Chief Enforcer slammed a folder onto the desk.

“Alpha Marcus, our investigation is complete. The silver blade you claimed was used to attack Yara carries only one set of prints and one scent: the victim’s.”

Damon turned pale: “Impossible! She must have forced Yara to self-harm!”

The Enforcer interrupted: “And the injuries.”

“Our healers examined Yara.”

“Her fractures were caused by blunt force trauma, not magic.”

The conclusion hit Marcus and Damon like a physical blow.

“How could this be… did she do it all herself?”

He remembered Yara’s pitiable cries in the pack hospital.

She said she was only testing their love.

But who would self-harm with silver and frame their sister to test love?

Marcus’s hands trembled.
