Silent No More, Never Forgive My Family Chapter 02

Silent No More, Never Forgive My Family Chapter 02

I was locked away in the pitch-black dungeon.

As the night temperature plummeted, I sat shivering in my coffee-soaked clothes.

The dungeon was a cage for those who had strayed, the walls were treated with wolfbane to suppress our nature.

I couldn’t shift, nor could I reach my wolf.

I was left to endure the darkness and cold in total isolation.

Through the walls, I could hear the noise from the floor above.

The healer’s soothing words, my mother’s sobs, and the curses my father and Damon hurled at my name.

Those sounds stung worse than the cold.

Late the next night, the dungeon lock clicked open.

Yara stood at the door, looking down at my frozen, rigid body.

“Sister, why are you lying there like a mangy stray?”

“Want to know who put the ‘medicine’ in the food?”

She knelt, a triumphant smirk on her face: “I did it myself.”

“I just wanted to see who the Alpha, the Luna, and Damon cared about more—their biological daughter or their foster daughter.”

“See? Even if you are the daughter of this Alpha family, in their eyes, you’ll never measure up to an Omega like me!”

I stared at her in silence, finding no reason to refute her.

Finally, I signed to her: “You know about the Truth-Speaking Curse. Don’t push me, or I will make you regret it.”

Yara laughed as if I’d told a joke.

“You don’t even dare to speak. You have to play mute. Do you really think you can threaten me?”

She leaned into my ear and whispered, “You don’t dare use that power.”

“You’re afraid they’ll find out you’re a monster.”

“You’re afraid that the moment you open your mouth, you’ll destroy the home you crave.”

“That’s why I will always win.”

A cold smile played on Yara’s lips.

She pulled a silver blade from her pocket.

“What do you think the Alpha and Luna will do when they see you’ve stabbed me out of spite? Will you be exiled?”

Without hesitation, she slashed the silver blade across her own arm.

As blood gushed out, she threw the knife toward me and let out a harrowing howl.

“No! Sister, what are you doing? I only came to visit you! Why are you trying to kill me?”

Damon burst in in his wolf form, fangs bared and eyes bloodshot.

My parents were right behind him.

“Yara!”

Mom saw the knife at my feet and shrieked, rushing forward to kick me squarely in the chest.

“Monster! You are an utter monster! Yara came to check on you, and you stabbed her with silver!”

I slammed into the wall, my vision swimming.

Yara whimpered in Damon’s arms.

“Years ago, when you were looking for your daughter… I had a birthmark just like hers. I misled you. If it wasn’t for me, you would have found her sooner. I feel so guilty…”

Before I was five, I lived in an orphanage within the United Packs.

Yara was the only one who wasn’t afraid of my curse, the only one willing to be my friend.

Back then, I still spoke.

“Sister,” she used to say, “we’ll be together forever.”

I believed her.

When I was five, the Alpha and Luna of the Silvermane Pack arrived.

They said they were looking for their lost daughter.

At the time, I didn’t know they were looking for a pup with a red birthmark.

Yara begged me, saying she wanted a mark just like mine.

Since she was the only one who didn’t shun me,

I was naturally willing to use my power for her.

I said, “Yara has a birthmark exactly like mine.”

When my parents arrived at the orphanage, Yara was the first to run to them, showing her mark.

She cried, “Mom, Dad, I’ve waited so long for you.”

And so, she was mistaken for their biological daughter.

It wasn’t until they realized she was an Omega that they knew they’d made a mistake.

Meanwhile, their real daughter had been adopted by a cruel she-wolf who eventually tried to drown her.

I looked at Yara’s tear-stained face.

She always knew what to say—just as she knew how to trick me, how to lie to me, and how to leave me alone in hell.

Mom stroked Yara’s face tenderly: “That wasn’t your fault. Who knew fate would be so strange, giving you the same mark as Raven?”
