The $100 Humiliation- Watching My Broke Ex Stare at My Billionaire Husband Chapter 09By Novel7s / May 23, 2026 The $100 Humiliation- Watching My Broke Ex Stare at My Billionaire Husband Chapter 09Pierce refused to let me leave. He fired Lynn and cut off all contact with her. She was used to wasting money. When it all stopped, she couldn’t handle it. She begged Pierce a few times, but he turned her away. After that, she disappeared completely. Pierce stayed by my side, kept me in his house, spent money on me like crazy. He never left me alone. “Baby, you don’t have to worry about anything.” “I’ll make you love me again.” “I’ll do all the things that made you fall for me before.” “I’ll marry you. I’ll learn to be a good dad.” He held me carefully, chin on my head, whispering over and over. “The doctor said your body’s weak. If you lose this baby, you might never get pregnant again.” “I remember you said you wanted a real home. A complete family. You don’t want this, right?” “So Lila, you belong to me forever. We’re meant to be together.” I said nothing. I just watched him make a fool of himself. A month later, Pierce’s fiancée came back. His father ordered him to the family mansion to meet her. He tried to hide it from me. But I saw it in a celebrity news push. “Pierce, heir to the Pierce Group, to marry Lindsay of the Knae Group next month- a powerful union.” I showed him my phone. Pierce comforted me. “Wait for me. I’ll fix this. I’ll be right back.” But after Pierce left, his fiancée came to see me. She wore a perfect white dress, makeup elegant, her face cold and superior. She held out a check made out for five million dollars. “Miss Lila.” Her voice was calm, but unyielding. “Leave Pierce. The money’s yours.” “We’re both women. I don’t want to make this hard. Just go.” I looked at the check, then at her, and smiled. “Okay.” I agreed. When Pierce came back, I was gone without a trace. He smashed everything in the house in a rage. His hands shook as he grabbed his phone, ordering people to find me no matter what. I had the abortion alone. While I recovered, the extra I’d hired heard about what happened to me. He called and said his sister ran a modeling agency and needed people. He asked if I wanted to give it a try. I said yes. I left the city that had broken me, drove south, to a warm, wet coastal town. I was already pretty and in good shape. With his sister’s training, I made a name for myself in modeling quickly. Snow melted and fell again in the north. But in the south, flowers bloomed year–round. I met Sean in that town. He was a doctor at the city central hospital- gentle, polite, kind. We got to know each other slowly, and fell in love. He knew that I had a special constitution and patiently and meticulously helped me condition my body, from diet to routine, everything was very small. Three years after we got together, I got pregnant. This time, I wasn’t scared or unsure. Sean held me, his eyes red, voice shaking. “Lila… thank you. Thank you for giving me a home.” Our baby was born on a sunny day. A healthy little girl. She looked like me, with his nose. I named her Skye. Sean held the baby, grinning like an idiot, whispering in my ear over and over. “Lila, we have a home now.” I looked at him, and tears filled my eyes. Yes. We had a home. A real, warm home that belonged to me. I heard Pierce searched for me like a madman. He never married Lindsay. His grandfather had a stroke from anger, but Pierce didn’t care. I never followed his news again. On nice weekends, I held Sean’s hand and took Skye to the mall. One day, outside a convenience store, I bent down to pick snacks for Skye. A familiar, hoarse voice came from behind me. “Lila.” I turned around. Pierce was standing there. His eyes were bloodshot. He looked worn–out, nothing like the confident man he used to be. Skye hugged me. “Mommy, this uncle is handsome! But Daddy is still the most handsome!” “Who is he, Mommy? Do you know him?” Pierce’s gaze fell on Skye. He froze, then stumbled toward her, his voice shaking. “Lila… where did this child come from?” He laughed to himself, in denial. “You didn’t adopt her from an orphanage, did you?” I looked up and told him, clearly. “She’s my biological daughter.” Pierce stared. He struggled to speak. “How… you couldn’t have…” Just then, Sean walked up behind him. Skye’s eyes lit up. She shouted excitedly, “Daddy!” She pulled away from me and ran straight into Sean’s arms. Pierce watched her run past him, into Sean’s arms, who’d just bought her candied hawthorns. “Daddy, this uncle is being weird. He said I was adopted from an orphanage.” “Am I adopted, Daddy?” Sean lifted Skye into his arms and smiled, handing her the treat. “Uncle is being silly. Skye isn’t adopted. Mommy carried you for ten months to give birth to you.” “Mommy worked so hard to have you.” “So you and I have to love Mommy so much, okay?” Skye nodded hard. “Mm! I love Mommy the most!” Pierce watched Skye in Sean’s arms, the way they looked alike. The light in his eyes died out completely. Sean held Skye and walked toward me. When he saw Pierce, he didn’t ask questions. He just put an arm around my shoulder, letting me know I was safe. Pierce opened his mouth, but no words came out. In the end, he just stood there, broken, watching our family of three disappear into the crowd. I leaned against Sean, feeling his warm hand, watching Skye laugh happily with her treat. My heart was peaceful. I didn’t look back. The southern branch blooms toward the sun; the northern one withers in the cold. I’d already taken root in the southern warmth, grown into a flower that would never fade. We would never meet again.
