I looked up at Zephyr’s incredulous stare and instinctively touched the bracelet on my wrist. 

When he was still blind, I always wore it. When he held my hand, he would feel it and ask what kind of stones were on it. 

Seeing I wasn’t answering, Zephyr suddenly grabbed my wrist, speaking urgently. “Speak! Why is this bracelet here? Who are you?!” 

I never expected him to recognize the bracelet even though he didn’t recognize me. 

Emotions churned in my chest. Just as I was about to speak, Selene interrupted. “Nova, why are you wearing my bracelet without permission?” 

She reached out to snatch it. Her sharp nails scratched the back of my hand, drawing blood instantly. 

I grunted in pain and tried to pull my hand back, but she deliberately fell backwards. 

Zephyr’s expression shifted dramatically. He instinctively pulled her into his arms for protection, his gaze towards me turning ice cold. 

“So that’s it. I thought…” 

“So you stole Selene’s bracelet, and when caught, you got violent. Nova, you’re disgusting.” 

In that moment, I felt nothing but cold. 

I raised my bleeding hand, my voice trembling, but I held onto that last shred of hope. 

“You remember this bracelet, but have you ever wondered… 

since your sight returned, have you ever once seen Selene wearing it?” 

“Because she doesn’t even know it exists. She isn’t the person you think…” 

Before I could finish, Orion’s palm connected with my cheek in a stinging slap. 

My vision went black. The force of the blow made me stumble back into the champagne tower. 

Hundreds of glasses toppled and shattered with a deafening crash. I was drenched in alcohol, bruised and bleeding from 

the shards. 

I lay on the ground, blood mixing with wine, the pain so sharp that tears streamed down my face. 

Isadora walked up to me, her face cold. She poured red wine 

directly onto my face. 

“Selene wasn’t wearing it because it was being repaired. We 

just picked it up today, and you took the chance to steal it and wear it, trying to claim it as your own?” 

“It’s one thing to cause trouble at home, but today is Selene’s 

birthday banquet. You’ve shamed the Ravencrest Pack in front 

of everyone!” 

“This was your grandmother’s most treasured heirloom, meant for Selene. How could it ever belong to you?” 

Orion and Isadora played off each other’s lines. 

Zephyr’s eyes had also turned completely cold. 

He calmed the trembling, crying Selene, wiping away her 

tears. 

Then he walked up to me, crouched down, and grabbed my bruised and bleeding wrist. 

He removed the bracelet, wiped off the blood, and personally put it on Selene’s wrist. The gesture was painfully tender. 

“Selene, this was your grandmother’s wish, and a reminder of our past five years. I won’t let anyone tarnish it.” 

He finished speaking, looked up at Orion, his voice cold as ice. 

“Orion, stealing family property and moral depravity… shouldn’t the Ravencrest Pack enforce its laws?” 

Orion immediately nodded, called for a silver whip, and gripped it himself. “By Alpha decree, Nova’s punishment is 

fifty lashes for her crimes.” 

“Today, I will discipline her publicly so she learns her lesson.” 

The silver whip cracked through the air. 

Agony exploded across my back. My whole body convulsed. 

A scream tore through the hall. Blood quickly soaked my 

clothes. 

The pain was so intense that my vision blurred. I forced 

broken words from my throat between sobs. 

“I didn’t steal… that bracelet… it was always mine…. Grandmother gave it to me…” 

Zephyr stood aside. He didn’t look at me again. He just covered 

Selene’s eyes and led her away, turning his back on me. 

Their figures grew increasingly distant. 

I lay on the cold marble floor, slowly closing my eyes, biting my lip until I no longer made a sound.
