I’m The Villainess Blocking The Shifter King Chapter 03

I’m The Villainess Blocking The Shifter King Chapter 03

Mason and I somehow switched roles in an amusing way.

He became the workaholic who headed to the office every day with a briefcase, while I became the pampered little wife waiting at home for him to return.

I could not lose trust in the man who shared my bed just because of a few unverified floating comments.

But one day, when I came home from buying groceries, I ran into a beautiful woman pacing back and forth outside my apartment door.

I knew what was bound to come had finally come, so I gathered my courage and walked over.

“May I ask who you’re looking for?”

The woman had porcelain-smooth skin, and her glowing blue-and-white headpiece and matching makeup made her look almost otherworldly.

“Hello. My name is Serena Frost. I’m the shifter princess, and I’m here for Mason.”

The floating comments appeared before my eyes again.

[It’s her! It’s her! That’s her! Serena Frost, the living definition of beauty! She’s also the shifter princess, the embodiment of courage and justice.]

[Serena is so gorgeous I’m losing it. She and the male lead are a perfect match. My girl has the face card of the century!]

[I get annoyed just seeing the side character. Hurry up and give our male lead back to our precious female lead. She’s so ordinary, yet she got to have a man that gorgeous in her bed. What a waste.]

It felt as if something were lodged in my throat, and my heart was being torn apart piece by piece.

I forced myself to speak. “Mason is at work. What do you need him for?”

I brought the woman inside. As she looked around at the decor, she said, “As far as I know, Mason lost his memory, and you saved him. On behalf of Mason and his family, I want to thank you. I came here to take him back.”

Before I could say anything, her gaze landed on the intimate photo of Mason and me.

Tears immediately filled her eyes, and her voice turned slightly choked. “The home you two have built together feels so warm and cozy.”

I stood there at a loss, wanting to say something, but I had no idea where to begin.

Serena told me about everything she and Mason had been through together. Their journey had truly not been easy.

Compared to her, I seemed more like the side character who had gained everything without paying any price.

“So please, you must leave Mason. He has a duty to his family, and he cannot spend his life with an ordinary human.”

“I’ll give you three days to think about it. Three days from now, I’ll come find you again. If you’re willing to leave him, I’ll give you a generous payment as thanks for saving his life. If you refuse…”

She paused. “I’ll make you disappear from this world completely.”

Just after Serena left, Mason came home from work.

When he saw there was no dinner on the table, his brows drew together slightly. He took my hand, placed it in his warm palm, and asked gently, “Baby, are you in a bad mood today? Why don’t we eat out?”

I suddenly lifted my head, hooked my arms around his neck, and kissed him on the lips.

As I kissed him, tears slid between our pressed-together faces.

I’ll make sure you leave this place and never come back.

He kissed away my tears with unbearable tenderness.

“Easy, baby. Don’t put so much pressure on yourself. I can take care of you too.”

I sniffed and carefully probed, “If, and I mean if, you already had a beautiful fiancée, and you also had a duty to your family that you needed to fulfill, would you leave me behind?”

After hearing my question, Mason fell silent.

The floating comments appeared again.

[The side character really has no brain. The male lead is the male lead because he has an unbreakable bond with the female lead. Besides, he carries the heavy responsibility of restoring his family. How could he possibly stay for a side character?]

[She drools over the male lead every single day. I swear her brain must be fried. Silence is the clearest answer. How does she not understand that?]

That was right. Silence was the answer.

I climbed off Mason and silently walked into the kitchen to make him dinner.

Mason looked as if he wanted to say something, but the shadow between his brows would not fade.
