I’m The Villainess Blocking The Shifter King Chapter 01

I’m The Villainess Blocking The Shifter King Chapter 01

A woman with an insatiable appetite, I took in an injured shifter I had found lying unconscious. After I nursed him back to health, I let myself savor all the love he gave me.

That day, as we were sharing an intimate moment, floating comments suddenly appeared before my eyes.

[Mason Wilder is about to get his memories back. Once he realizes he’s the Shifter King, he’ll know he should have gone back to save his family the moment he woke up. Instead, that lust-crazed side character has been keeping him under her thumb every day and holding him back. She’s going to pay for it later.]

[Our precious female lead is the shifter princess. She sacrificed one of her tails to search for Mason and fought a life-or-death battle against the people who hurt him. She and Mason are the ones who truly belong together.]

[The side character needs to step aside already. She keeps being overly affectionate with him anywhere and everywhere at the slightest excuse. Has she no shame? She’s stopping our Shifter King from going back and marrying our precious female lead.]

I stared blankly at Mason’s stunning, almost unreal face, and I pulled back gently.

Confusion flickered in his eyes as he asked gently, “Baby, why did you stop kissing me?”

I moved off him.

The thick, charged heat in the air vanished in an instant.

I rushed into the bathroom, turned on the shower, and tried to calm myself down.

Mason pushed the door open and wrapped his long tail around me, pulling me into his arms.

His eyes were filled with deep affection. “You still haven’t answered me, baby.”

Shifters had always been a race apart. High-ranking shifters could kill ordinary humans like us without leaving a trace.

In the end, people like us could become nothing more than food in their stomachs.

And someone like the Shifter King stood at the very top of that hierarchy.

I could not help thinking about those floating comments, and a chill ran through me.

I looked up at him and lied, “Mason, I just remembered my period started today. It’s not a good time.”

Disappointment flashed clearly in his eyes.

He obviously knew my cycle better than I did, but he did not expose the lie.

“Okay. Then finish your shower and get some sleep, baby.”

That night, he held me tightly in his arms, his warm breath brushing against my ear.

But I stayed awake until morning.

The next day, I did something completely out of character and got up early.

Still, Mason beat me to it. He had already made breakfast and brought it to me.

“Baby, breakfast is ready. Eat up, then it’s time for work.”

Ever since his injuries healed, he had taken on the role of a stay-at-home husband all on his own.

He did the laundry, cooked my meals, fed the fish, walked the dog, and kept the house in perfect order.

I decided I had to put some distance between us and kick him out when the time was right.

I pushed the plate aside and said to him without a trace of emotion, “Mason, don’t do any of this for me anymore. You should leave.”

Mason froze. The bowl in his hand, filled with the eggs he had just fried, hit the floor with a sharp crash.

His eyes reddened at once, and his voice turned hoarse and shaky. “Baby, did I not please you well enough last night? Is that why you want to kick me out?”

“That’s not it. My paycheck is barely enough for one person, and you’re a grown man living off my food and my money every day. I really can’t afford to keep supporting you.”

The floating comments appeared again.

[Did the lust-crazed side character have a personality transplant? Yesterday, she was still clinging to the male lead and making him kiss her instep. Today, she’s kicking him out?]

[What personality transplant? She probably found a new replacement. She can’t afford to keep two men, so she’s throwing the male lead away.]

[Who cares? Our precious female lead is coming soon. She’ll rescue Mason from this nightmare.]

[They’re the perfect match. Our precious female lead loves Mason with all her heart, while this villainous side character only knows how to exploit our Shifter King.]

[Once the male lead gets his memories back, she’s going to pay for it.]

When I saw the comments, I grabbed my bag in a panic and headed for the door, but I still remembered to turn back and warn him, “Mason, when I come home tonight, make sure you’re gone.”
